Okay, so I’ve been wanting a new cap, and I’m a huge Yankees fan. I also dig the floral look, so I thought, “Why not combine the two?” I started this little project to make my own Yankees floral cap, and let me tell you, it was a journey!

Finding the Right Stuff
First things first, I needed a plain Yankees cap. Nothing fancy, just the classic navy blue. I went with a regular fitted one, making sure the size was just right,I picked it up from a local sporting goods store.
Then came the fun part – finding the flowers! I didn’t want real ones, obviously, because they’d wilt and die. So, I hit up a craft store. They had TONS of artificial flowers. It was a little overwhelming, to be honest.
- I spent a good hour just browsing.
- I wanted something that looked somewhat realistic, but also not too bulky.
- I ended up grabbing a few different types of small flowers in various shades of pink, white, and even a touch of light blue.
- I also grabbed some greenery – you know, leaves and stuff – to add some depth.
The Messy Part
Alright, time to get crafting!

I laid down some newspaper on my kitchen table because I knew this was gonna get messy. I had my trusty hot glue gun, the cap, and all my floral goodies.
I started by snipping the flowers off their stems. I left a little bit of the stem attached, just enough to give me something to glue onto the cap. Then, I started playing around with the placement.
This took some time.

I’d stick a few flowers on, step back, look at it, rearrange them, and repeat. I wanted a good balance – not too crowded, but not too sparse either. I ended up going for a cluster of flowers on one side of the cap, kind of cascading down a bit.
Once I was happy with the general layout, I started gluing! I put a small dab of hot glue on the base of each flower and carefully pressed it onto the cap.

I held it there for a few seconds to make sure it was secure.
I did the same with the greenery, tucking it in between the flowers to fill in any gaps.
The Final Touches
After all the flowers and leaves were glued on, I let it dry completely. I mean, I was itching to wear it, but I knew I had to be patient. It took like a whole afternoon for all the hot glue get solid, so I do something else at that time.

And that’s it! My very own custom Yankees floral cap.
It’s definitely unique, and I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. Now the base ball season is more fun.
