Well, well, well, look what we got here, Yankees and Brewers, huh? Two big teams, always fighting it out. You see them on the TV, those strong boys, running and hitting that little ball. I don’t know much about all them fancy rules, but I do know a good game when I see one. And let me tell ya, these Yankees and Brewers games, they sure are something!
That Willy Adames, that guy is somethin’ else, ain’t he? I heard he hit a home run, a two-run thing. That’s good, right? And that other fella, Carlos Santana, he’s got three hits. Sounds like he was busy out there. They gave them Yankees a good beating, 8 to 2, I hear. Eight to two! That ain’t even close, is it? Brewers, they won that one, clear as day. They were so happy.
Then there was that other game, where this Adames fella, he did it again. Home run, and he got four runs driven in, whatever that means. Sounds important, though. And some other guy, Garrett Mitchell, he did something special at the end, in the ninth, I think they call it. They said he “walked it off.” Whatever that is, it made the Brewers win, 7 to 6. Close one, that was. They all come run to him and jump. They were happy as a pig in mud, I bet!
I saw some of the games on TV, with all them bright colors and people yelling. They call it MLB, whatever that is. Some young fella was playing it on a computer, too. Looked real, almost. He said it was MLB The Show 2023, with the Yankees playing the Twins. Lots of teams, these baseball folks got. Always playing something.
Sometimes, these games go on for a long, long time. I heard about one that went to the 13th inning, whatever that means. Just sounds tiring, don’t it? This one guy, Anthony Misiewicz, he kept the Brewers from winning, they say. Gave the Yankees a chance. And then this Kyle Higashioka, he did something good, I guess. It’s all so confusing, but it sure is exciting!
They got all these fancy words for things, these baseball folks. “Recaps” and “breakdowns,” they call them. They show the best parts of the game again and again. One time it was the Yankees and the Brewers, and they showed it on September 18th. I don’t know what year, but it was September 18th, that’s for sure. Lots of dates, they know.
- That Juan Soto, he’s a big deal for the Yankees, they say.
- Got all kinds of numbers about him, how good he is.
- Numbers, numbers, numbers, that’s all they talk about sometimes.
The Brewers, they were winning a lot, I hear. Then they lost this one game, 4 to 3, in that long, long 13th inning. They were ahead of some other team, the Cubs, I think. Now they’re only ahead by three games, whatever that means. Three games. It’s like counting chickens. Always countin’ somethin’ in baseball.
Now, there’s this other fella, Luis Gil, he’s gonna “get the ball” for the Yankees. What, is he gonna throw it to the cows? I don’t know. Then there’s the Dodgers, another team. They’re gonna have a “bullpen game.” Sounds like they’re gonna let the bulls out, don’t it? I don’t understand all these words, but it sure sounds exciting, don’t it? They should be careful, though.
These Yankees and Brewers, they play a lot of games. All over the place. Lots of running, lots of hitting that little ball. It’s a whole lot of fuss, if you ask me. But folks sure do love it. They get all dressed up in their team colors, and they yell and holler. It’s a big to-do. I guess it’s good to have something to get excited about, ain’t it? Even if you don’t understand all them fancy words and rules. Yankees and Brewers, always somethin’ goin’ on with them, ain’t there?
