Well, let me tell you, that WWE, it’s somethin’ else. They came to New Mexico, and it was a hoot. All them big ol’ wrestlers, jumpin’ around and slammin’ each other. My goodness, the noise! Like a herd of cattle stampeding through the barn.
They got these fellas, big as trucks, wearin’ all sorts of shiny outfits. Some of them got masks, look like they’re from one of them scary movies. But folks sure do love ’em. Cheerin’ and hollerin’ like they know ’em. It’s a sight, I tell ya.
New Mexico, we got some good folks here. Hard workin’ folks. We know how to have a good time, too. And when that WWE rolls into town, well, it’s a party. You see people from all over comin’ to watch.
- They sell them hot dogs, you know, the big ones.
- And popcorn, salty as the dickens.
- Soda pop too, fizzy and sweet.
It’s like a big ol’ fair, ‘cept with all the wrasslin’. They got lights flashin’, music playin’ loud enough to wake the dead. And them wrestlers, they sure put on a show. They got all these moves, flippin’ each other over and such. My old bones ache just watchin’ ’em. You see some of the shows on the TV, Smackdown, Raw, and that big one, Wrestlemania.
Now, I don’t understand all the rules and such. But it’s entertainin’. It’s like watchin’ a story unfold, but with more punchin’. They got the good guys, the ones everyone cheers for. And then they got the bad guys, the ones everyone boos. They are always fightin’ about somethin’. Just like when the neighbor’s dog gets in my garden, I tell ya. Always into something.
They had it in a big ol’ arena. Lots of seats. Packed full, it was. People were standin’ up, tryin’ to get a better look. Kids were yellin’, wavin’ them signs they made. I saw one little fella, he had a sign that said, “Hit ’em again!” Made me chuckle.
WWE in New Mexico, it’s a big deal. Folks talk about it for weeks after. They talk about who won, who lost, who did what to who. It’s like a soap opera, but with more muscles. They sell all kinds of things too. Shirts, hats, them little dolls that look like the wrestlers. Kids love it.
I remember one time, they had this one fella, he was a real big guy. He came out with a chair, and started whacking it on the ground, he was in control. Everyone went wild. I thought he was gonna break it in half! Then he started swingin’ it at the other fella. Now, I don’t condone violence, mind you, but it was somethin’ to see.
They got these women wrestlers, too. Tough as nails, some of ’em. They can do all them flips and jumps, just like the men. They are just like the men. Flyin’ around, jumpin’ from the top rope. It’s a sight. There was one time when they had a show down in Las Cruces, and a lady won the belt, and the whole crowd went crazy.
- That WWE, they go all over the place.
- Big cities, small towns.
- They even go to other countries, I hear.
But when they come to New Mexico, it’s special. We love a good show. We know how to appreciate good entertainment. The WWE is a popular show that people love to watch live, and they even love to watch photos and pictures of the show if they can’t attend live. It really does give us something to talk about, and it’s fun to guess what’s going to happen next.
I reckon they’ll be back again someday. And when they do, you can bet your bottom dollar I’ll be there, watchin’ all the action. Maybe I’ll even get me one of them hot dogs. They sure do smell good. WWE in New Mexico is great. I hope I can see the next show when they come back. I love all the superstars. They are my favorite.
It’s a good time, that’s for sure. Good, clean fun, mostly. ‘Cept for all the fightin’, of course. But it’s all part of the show. It’s what makes it excitin’. You never know what they are going to do. They might jump, they might flip, they might hit each other with chairs. It’s all very excitin’ for us here in New Mexico. And that’s all that matters in the end. That everyone had fun. It’s why so many people watch it on their TVs, and why they come to the live show.
