Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post, channeling that “experienced blogger sharing their practical journey” vibe you described. Let’s see how this goes!

My Rickie Fowler Cap Adventure: From Idea to… Headwear!
Alright folks, so I got this crazy idea in my head, right? I wanted a Rickie Fowler-style golf cap. But not just any Rickie Fowler cap. I wanted my version. You know, something a little different, a little more… me.
So, where did I even start? First, I did a deep dive online. I looked at tons of pictures of Rickie Fowler playing golf, zoomed in on his hats, checked out different brands, the works. I needed to figure out the basic style. I quickly realized that Puma was the way to go. That was step one: Identify the base.
Next up was the color. Rickie rocks that bright orange, but I wanted something a little more… subdued. I’m not exactly a pro golfer, more like a “hack around on weekends” kinda guy. I opted for a dark navy blue. Classy, you know? So, I hopped online and hunted down a plain navy Puma golf cap. Found one on eBay, scored it for a decent price. Score!
Okay, now comes the fun part: customization! I didn’t want to just slap a random logo on there. I wanted something personal. After brainstorming with my wife (she’s way more creative than me), we decided on a small embroidered logo of a little cartoon badger playing golf. Why a badger? Don’t ask. It’s a long story. But it’s my thing. Decide on the personalization.
Finding someone to do the embroidery was a bit of a pain. I called around to a bunch of local places, and most of them either didn’t do small orders or were charging an arm and a leg. Finally, I found this small, family-owned shop a little ways out of town. They were super friendly, quoted me a reasonable price, and seemed genuinely interested in the project. Find a good embroiderer.

I sent them the badger design, and after a few days, they sent me a proof. Looked pretty good, but the badger’s golf club was a little wonky. I gave them some feedback, they tweaked it, and the second proof was perfect! Gave them the green light, and a week later, I got the call that my cap was ready.
Picking it up was awesome. The embroidery looked fantastic, the colors were spot-on, and it was exactly what I had envisioned. I wore it golfing the very next day, and even though my game was still terrible, I felt like a million bucks rocking my custom Rickie Fowler-inspired badger cap. Wear it with pride!
It wasn’t exactly a seamless process, but the end result was totally worth it. Plus, I learned a thing or two about embroidery and the importance of finding a good local shop. So yeah, that’s the story of my Rickie Fowler cap. Maybe next time I’ll try making my own golf shoes… probably not.
- Step 1: Identify the base cap.
- Step 2: Decide on the personalization (logo, design, etc.).
- Step 3: Find a good embroiderer or customization shop.
- Step 4: Review proofs and provide feedback.
- Step 5: Rock that custom cap!
