Where Did Lamar Jackson Play College Football? The Story Behind His Decision to Attend Louisville

Well now, lemme tell ya ’bout a feller by the name of Lamar Jackson. You might’ve heard of him, seein’ as he’s one of them fancy quarterbacks up there with them Baltimore Ravens. Now, where’d he go to college, ya ask? Well, let me tell ya, he didn’t go to just any ol’ school, no sir. He picked Louisville. Yep, that’s right, the University of Louisville. Not a lotta folks around here might know, but he sure made a big splash once he got there.

Now, Lamar, he wasn’t always the big star he is now. Nah, back in high school, he was just another young fella tryin’ to make a name for himself. He went to Boynton Beach Community High School down there in Florida, between 2012 and 2015. That’s where he first started showin’ off that big ol’ arm and fast legs. He was a true athlete, that one. But he didn’t stop there. No sir, he had bigger dreams. And so, he decided to sign with the Louisville Cardinals. Ain’t that somethin’?

So, why’d he pick Louisville over all them other big schools that were after him? Well, turns out, it wasn’t just about the football or the weather or the food—though, I hear they got some fine cookin’ up there in Kentucky. No, sir, it was all about that coach Bobby Petrino. See, Petrino had a knack for workin’ with quarterbacks, and Lamar knew that’s where he could really make a name for himself. I reckon it wasn’t an easy choice, but when you got a coach that knows what they’re doin’, that sure helps a feller along the way.

Now, I ain’t gonna say it was all sunshine and rainbows. Lamar Jackson had to put in some work. When he first started at Louisville, he was just a freshman, and let me tell ya, the learnin’ curve was steep. He wasn’t playin’ easy teams, not by a long shot. But Lamar, he got better. He got real good. By the time he left Louisville, he’d completed 619 of 1,086 passes for over 9,000 yards—9,043 to be exact. And let me tell ya, that’s a whole lotta yards. Not only that, but he threw 69 touchdowns, and you know folks were watchin’ him do it.

But it wasn’t just his arm that got him noticed. Oh no, Lamar Jackson could run too! Over his time at Louisville, he ran the ball 655 times for over 4,100 yards and 50 touchdowns. That boy could move! He was a real dual-threat quarterback, that’s for sure.

After all that success at college, well, the NFL came callin’. Lamar Jackson got picked up by the Baltimore Ravens, and that was just the beginnin’. He’s been with ‘em ever since, and let me tell ya, he’s done some amazing things. He was even named MVP not once, but twice! Ain’t that somethin’? And on top of that, he’s been to three Pro Bowls. Now, that’s some mighty fine accomplishments, if ya ask me.

But enough about all the fancy awards and accolades, let’s talk a little bit about the man himself. Lamar Jackson, he’s a family man too. He’s got a young daughter, Milan, born on January 4, 2021. He keeps his personal life pretty private, but it’s clear that he’s a proud father.

So there ya have it, folks. Lamar Jackson, from them humble beginnings in Florida to a star quarterback up there with the Ravens. And where’d he go to college? That’s right—he went to Louisville, where he made a name for himself and turned heads all across the country. He’s a fine example of what hard work and determination can get ya, that’s for sure.
