Okay, so I got to tell you about this little project I did about Tiger Woods. I wanted to find out what his lowest score ever was. It’s like, everyone talks about how great he is, right? So I figured, let’s dig into the numbers.
First, I hit up the internet. You know, just a basic search to see what I could find. There’s so much out there about Tiger, it’s crazy. I started with his PGA Championship scores. Found out that back in 2007, he shot a 63. That’s 7-under par, pretty wild. But I was thinking, is that it? Can he go lower?
So, I kept digging. Turns out, the guy’s never officially shot below 60 in a tournament. He’s got a few 61s under his belt. He did that at the GTE Byron Nelson Invitational in ’99, the WGC-NEC Invitational in 2000, and the Buick Open in 2005. Solid, but I was still curious about non-tournament play.
Diving Deeper
- Searching for Unofficial Rounds: I figured, maybe he’s got a killer score in a casual round somewhere.
- Checking Out Practice Rounds: Sometimes players do crazy stuff when they’re just practicing.
And then, boom! I found something interesting. The lowest score he ever shot, even in just a round of golf, was 59. He did it at the Isleworth Country Club in Windermere, Florida. That’s nuts, right? A 59! And get this, it was back in April 1997. I was like, “What? He was a beast even back then!”
I also found he shot a 62 in the first round of the 2018 BMW Championship, which is like, the second-lowest score of his career. And then, during a third round somewhere, he shot a 65. This guy’s consistent, I’ll give him that.
So yeah, that’s what I found out. Tiger Woods, lowest score, 59. It’s not an official tournament score, but still. It tells you something about how good he is. I just thought it was super cool to go through all this data and find that gem. Makes you appreciate the guy’s skill even more, you know?
I mean, I just wanted to see if he’s ever broken his own records. It seems like he’s always pushing himself. And I was also thinking, has anyone ever won like, three PGA tournaments in a row? Stuff like that. It’s just fun to think about these things, and look into what these athletes have done. Anyway, hope you guys found this as interesting as I did!
