Okay, so I got curious about Coco Gauff the other day. You see her playing, she’s incredible, right? And it just popped into my head – where are her parents actually from? What’s their nationality? Felt like something interesting to know, part of her background story.

So, what did I do? Pretty simple stuff, really. I went straight to my computer, opened up a search engine. I typed in something like “coco gauff parents nationality”. Kept it basic. Didn’t need anything fancy.
The search results page loaded up. Lots of stuff came back, mostly articles about her career, her dad being her coach, her mom’s background in athletics too. It mentioned their names, Corey and Candi Gauff, quite a bit.
Drilling Down a Bit
I clicked on a couple of the top results, just reading through the biographical bits. It wasn’t hidden or anything, just mixed in with all the tennis talk. It quickly became clear.
- Her father, Corey Gauff, is American.
- Her mother, Candi Gauff (formerly Odom), is also American.
So, there it was. Both her parents are American citizens. They were both athletes in college too, which I thought was interesting. Dad played basketball at Georgia State University, and Mom competed in track and field at Florida State University.
Honestly, it was a pretty quick search. Didn’t take long at all. The information was readily available once I put in the right search terms. Just needed to skim past the match results and coaching details to find the specific answer about their nationality. Simple as that, really. Just another piece of the puzzle about this talented player.
