The Brawling Brutes, oh honey, that’s somethin’ to talk about! You know, back in the day when folks used to watch wrestling on the telly, we didn’t have all them fancy moves and such, but these young lads, they sure knew how to get the crowd riled up! Now, you might’ve heard about this group, the Brawling Brutes, that started stirrin’ up trouble in WWE not too long ago. They wasn’t your usual bunch, no sir! They came out in November of 2021, led by none other than Sheamus, the big fella from Ireland who’s been in the wrestling game for quite a while.
Now, Sheamus, he didn’t start this group alone. He had two others helpin’ him, Ridge Holland and Butch—well, that Butch’s real name is Pete Dunne, but he’s always been known as Butch when he’s with the Brutes. So, they all got together and called themselves the Brawling Brutes. And let me tell ya, they wasn’t no gentle bunch. They came out swingin’, stompin’, and brawlin’, just like a gang of rowdy lads ready to fight anyone who looked at ’em wrong!
At first, they seemed like a strong team, right? Sheamus, big and tough, Ridge, strong as an ox, and Butch, quick as a fox. They was makin’ quite a name for themselves, bumpin’ heads with all sorts of other big teams. They even had themselves some wild matches—ones that’d make you jump out of your seat! I remember this one time they had themselves a Good-Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match at WWE Extreme Rules in 2022. Now, that was a match to remember, let me tell ya. Tables, chairs, fists flyin’ everywhere, and it was just chaos! But that’s how the Brutes liked it, ain’t it?
But not everything stays good forever, now does it? I reckon it was in August 2023, poor Sheamus got himself hurt with a shoulder injury. That’s tough luck, but that’s the price you pay when you’re in the wrestling business. After that, things started to go downhill for the Brawling Brutes. Now, I ain’t sayin’ it was all Sheamus’ fault, but when the leader gets hurt, things can get mighty uncertain, especially in a sport like this.
By November 2023, a lot had changed. Ridge Holland, bless his heart, walked away from Butch during a match, leavin’ the whole team in a mess. It was like the Brutes just fell apart. Sheamus was still injured, and Holland had gone his own way, leaving Butch to fend for himself. That’s the way it goes sometimes, honey, folks just move on when things ain’t workin’ out no more. Ain’t that the way of the world?
And now, what do we got? Ridge Holland’s off somewhere else, workin’ his way up in NXT. Looks like he’s got himself some good chances to make a name for himself again, though. If you ask me, maybe it’s better for him. NXT might give him the chance to grow and be better. As for Butch, well, he’s still around, tryin’ to hold things together, but the Brawling Brutes as a team? That’s all in the past now.
It’s a real shame, but that’s how these wrestling things go. You can’t stay on top forever, no matter how tough you are. Things change, people get injured, teams break apart, and new folks come along. The Brawling Brutes had their run, and for a time, they were one of the most exciting groups in WWE, no doubt about it. But now, it’s all over. All that’s left is the memories of those wild matches and the fights that made ’em famous. Will they ever get back together? Who knows? But I reckon it’s safe to say they left a mark.
So, if you’re a fan of them Brutes, you gotta hold on to them good ol’ memories. Who knows if we’ll see them fightin’ together again. But one thing’s for sure, Sheamus, Ridge, and Butch all gave us some mighty fine matches. Can’t take that away from ’em, no sir!
