Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… divin’ headbutt thing, the one that fella, Chris what’s his name… Bin-wah? Yeah, that’s it, Chris Bin-wah used to do. Folks say it messed him up real bad.
What is this divin’ headbutt anyway?
Well, it ain’t nothin’ fancy. It’s like this: a wrestler, he climbs up high, you know, on them ropes or that corner post thingy, and then he jumps, head first, smack into the other guy. Sounds crazy, right? I tell ya, these fellas do some wild things. Harley Race, now he’s another one, they say he kinda stumbled into doin’ it first. But Bin-wah, he made it his own, kinda like his special move.
- Jump from high up.
- Head first into the other guy.
- Looks painful, real painful.
Did it hurt him, this Bin-wah fella?
Folks say it did. They say he banged his head so many times, jumpin’ off them ropes and ladders even, that it scrambled his brains. Said he got these things called concussions, lots of ‘em. Like hittin’ your head real hard, over and over. Can’t be good for ya, I reckon. They say that’s why he… well, why he did that terrible thing, you know, the murderin’ and such. Real sad business, that was.
Now, there’s another fella, Daniel Bryan I think his name is. He did that headbutt too. Had to quit wrestlin’ ‘cause of it, somethin’ about seizures. Shakes and such. See, that head thing, it ain’t no joke.
Did they ban it, this headbutt?
I heard tell they did, in some places anyway. Too dangerous, I guess. Makes sense. You can’t go around bangin’ your head all the time and expect nothin’ bad to happen. Even these tough wrestlers, they ain’t made of steel, ya know?
Some folks argue, say it wasn’t just the headbutt that made Bin-wah do what he did. Maybe so, maybe not. But I tell ya, hittin’ your head like that, it can’t help. You see him after he did it, grabbin’ his head, lookin’ all funny. Musta hurt like the dickens. Head injuries are serious business, even if you ain’t a wrestler. Gotta take care of your noggin.
So, this divin’ headbutt, it’s a dangerous move. Looks flashy, I guess, but it ain’t worth it. Mess with your head, and you’re messin’ with everything. Bin-wah, poor fella, he’s a sad example of that. And that Daniel Bryan, he was lucky to get out when he did. This wrestlin’ business, it’s tough on the body, but the head, that’s the part you gotta protect. No good comin’ from bangin’ your head around, no good at all.
It’s like hittin’ a wall over and over, eventually somethin’s gonna break. And when it’s your head, well, that’s a whole heap of trouble. They shoulda stopped that move a long time ago, if you ask me. But then again, nobody asked me, did they? I just hope these young fellas learn somethin’ from all this. Your health, that’s more important than any jump or any crowd cheerin’.
Wrestling might be entertainment for some folks, watchin’ these fellas fly around and slam each other, but it’s real life for them. And real life injuries, specially to the head, they can change everything. So next time you see someone doin’ somethin’ crazy, think about Bin-wah, and think about that headbutt. It ain’t worth it, not one bit.
