So, I was catching up on some wrestling stuff the other night, you know, just flipping through some highlights. Cody Rhodes pops up, doing his whole ‘finish the story’ thing. And watching him, it kinda hit me, a little fuzzy memory started tickin’ away in the back of my head.
I put down my remote for a second. Didn’t he have a brother? Yeah, pretty sure he did. Also a wrestler, right? It was bugging me, one of those things you know you know, but can’t quite grab.
Figuring it Out
So, what do you do? I grabbed my tablet, the one I use for random lookups. Didn’t even bother with fancy search terms. Just typed something simple like ‘cody rhodes wrestling brother’.
First thing that popped up, bam! Dustin Rhodes. Of course! Goldust! How could I forget? Man, that character was something else back in the day. Totally different vibe from Cody’s ‘American Nightmare’ deal.
I started scrolling a bit more then. Found pictures of them together, even saw stuff about them wrestling each other. That must be weird, huh? Fighting your own brother in front of thousands of people. Makes you think.
- Remembered he was Goldust.
- Saw they actually wrestled against each other.
- Recalled their dad, the legendary Dusty Rhodes. Wow, what a family legacy.
Just Thinking On It
It really got me thinking about family in that business. You got the Harts, the Von Erichs, the Anoa’i family… and the Rhodes. Father and two sons, all making a big impact. It’s kinda wild when you step back and look at it.
Seeing Cody now, all serious and chasing the big one, and then remembering Dustin as Goldust… it’s like night and day. But they’re brothers. Went down different paths in the same world. Made me reflect a bit on my own family, how siblings can be so different but still connected, you know? We didn’t wrestle each other, thankfully, but you get the idea. Just interesting how families work, even the famous ones.
Anyway, that was my little trip down memory lane for the evening. Started with watching Cody, ended up thinking about Goldust and family ties. Funny how the brain works sometimes.
