Alright, so, I’ve been messing around with this “Ulalek precon decklist” thing for a while now, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. I first heard about it, like, months ago, someone mentioned it in passing, and I was all, “Ulalek what now?” Didn’t think much of it then. But then, I kept seeing it pop up here and there, you know, on those Magic: The Gathering forums I sometimes lurk on.
So, curiosity got the best of me. I decided to give it a whirl. I mean, why not, right? I started digging around, trying to figure out what this whole Ulalek thing was all about. Found out that it’s tied to this Eldrazi Incursion precon deck, whatever that means. But yeah, Ulalek, Fused Atrocity, that’s the name that kept coming up. Apparently, it’s some kind of big deal commander in this deck. And there is also an Unc. Eldrazi Incursion precon deck list. Sounds interesting.
First thing I did was, I tried to get my hands on the decklist. That took a bit of searching. There was one site, that had all these prices listed next to each card. Super overwhelming, man! I did notice that the average mana value of the main deck is 2.41 with lands and 4.39 without lands, which seems a little bit high in my opinion. But eventually, I managed to find a clean list, no prices, just the cards. Phew!
Then came the fun part – actually playing with the deck. I imported the deck list into the MTG Arena client, which was pretty straightforward, thank goodness. They had this easy import feature. I fired up a few games, just to get a feel for it. And let me tell you, it was wild. This deck is all about big, crazy creatures, and Ulalek, man, he’s a beast. I managed to get him out on the field a couple of times, and it was game over for my opponents.
I’ve been tweaking the deck a bit, swapping out some cards here and there. It’s a work in progress, you know? But I’m having a blast with it. It’s definitely different from the decks I usually play. There were also some emails that I received and subscribed to regarding this deck’s updates, but I have unsubscribed all of them since I don’t need any more updates for this deck. I also noticed that this deck is Commander / EDH legal so I can play this deck in these formats.
Here’s what I’ve learned so far:
- This deck is all about big plays. You’re not going to be winning on turn three, that’s for sure. It’s more about building up your resources and then unleashing these massive Eldrazi creatures.
- Ulalek is the star of the show. Seriously, this guy is nuts. If you can get him out and protect him, you’re in a good spot.
- It’s a ton of fun. Even when I’m losing, I’m still having a good time. There’s just something satisfying about playing these huge, otherworldly creatures.
So yeah, that’s my Ulalek precon decklist adventure so far. I’m still learning, still experimenting, but I’m definitely enjoying the ride. If you’re looking for something different, something a little bit crazy, I’d say give it a shot. You might just surprise yourself.
