Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Reverse 1999” game, and let me tell you, figuring out the best characters is a real head-scratcher. I decided to make my own tier list, because why not, right? First off, I started playing the game – obviously. Gotta get a feel for these characters in action.
Then, I started taking notes. Just some simple stuff on who seemed strong, who I liked using, and who was kinda “meh.” I played through a bunch of the story, did some of those challenge stages, you know, the usual.
My tier list process
After I felt like I had a decent grasp, I started looking at what other people were saying. You know, those tier lists that everyone and their mom seems to have. I checked out a few different ones to see where people were generally agreeing or disagreeing. It’s always good to get some different perspectives, even if you don’t always agree with them.
Next, I made a spreadsheet. Yeah, I’m a nerd, I know. I listed out all the characters and started giving them grades based on my experience and what I saw online. This was a rough draft, and I moved people around a lot at this stage.

I went back into the game and specifically tested out some of the characters I was unsure about. This was important, because sometimes a character seems good on paper but just doesn’t feel right in gameplay.
-
I also considered how easy it was to get certain characters. I mean, if a character is super rare and hard to level up, it’s hard to put them super high on the list, even if they’re powerful.
After a lot of tweaking, I finally had a tier list I was pretty happy with. It’s not perfect, and I’m sure some people will disagree, but that’s the fun of tier lists, right? Everyone’s got their own opinions.
So, that’s how I made my “Reverse 1999” tier list. It was a fun little project, and it definitely made me think more critically about the game and its characters. I’m gonna keep updating it as I play more, and who knows, maybe I’ll even share it online someday. We’ll see!
