Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of debate online about Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, especially with Brady retiring (again!). So, I decided to dig into the stats myself and see what all the fuss was about. It wasn’t as straightforward as I thought it would be!

First, I started by hitting up a few of the big sports websites. You know, the usual suspects. I figured they’d have some easy-to-compare tables, but honestly, it was a bit of a mess. Each site had different stats highlighted, different ways of presenting the data, and it was hard to get a clear, apples-to-apples comparison.
Then, I tried to compile everything into my own spreadsheet. That’s where things got really interesting. I spent a good chunk of time just copying and pasting numbers, double-checking everything, and making sure I wasn’t mixing up regular season and playoff stats. My desk looked like a sports statistician exploded!
- Passing Yards: I grabbed passing yards for both quarterbacks. This was pretty easy to find on most sites, thankfully.
- Touchdowns: Next, I focused on touchdowns. Again, pretty standard stuff, but still required careful data entry.
- Interceptions: I also made sure to include interceptions. This is a key stat to show the downside, right?
- Completion Percentage: I thought completion percentage was important to get a sense of their accuracy, so I added a column for that.
- Regular Season vs. Playoffs: This was a big one. I had to separate the regular season and playoff stats because the competition level is so different.
After gathering the main data, I found out there are many websites that can show all the stats, and I can filter to make the compare, it’s much convenient.
After a few hours of wrangling with data, I finally had a spreadsheet that I felt gave a decent overview. I even created a few simple charts to visualize the differences. It was way more work than I anticipated, but it was pretty cool to see it all come together.

So, yeah, that’s how I went about comparing Brady and Rodgers’ stats. It was a hands-on, messy, but ultimately rewarding experience. I might even refine it further and add some more advanced metrics later. For now, though, I’ve got a pretty good grasp of the numbers behind the legends!
