Yo, what’s up, everyone? Today, I wanna talk about something that’s been bugging me in CS2 – my crosshair. I’ve been messing around with different settings, trying to find that sweet spot, you know? So, I figured I’d share my little journey with y’all, and maybe it’ll help some of you out too.
First off, I went down a rabbit hole searching for how the pro, tarik, sets up his crosshair in CS2. I mean, the guy’s a beast, so I gotta see what the fuss is about, right?
I found out his mouse, some fancy Razer thing, is set to 800 DPI with 1.50 sensitivity. Now, his crosshair, that’s where it gets interesting. He uses style 4, size 1, and a gap of -3. I’m thinking “Okay, this could be the one”.
Experiment Time!
- Trying Tarik’s Setup: I plugged in these settings and jumped into a game. Honestly, it felt kinda weird at first. The small size was throwing me off, especially at long ranges. But the more I played, the more I got used to it. I did notice my tapping and bursting got way better.
- Tweaking the Size: Size 1 just wasn’t cutting it for me all the time. I bumped it up to 2, then 3. It’s a bit of a balancing act, ’cause too big and it starts blocking your view, but too small, and you can’t see the damn thing. I think that I will stay at size 3 for a while.
- Gap Experiment: Now, this is a weird one. The gap changes how much space is between the lines of your crosshair. Tarik’s -3 is pretty tight. I tried going wider, even positive numbers. It’s all about personal preference, but I ended up going back close to Tarik’s settings, maybe -2. It just felt right.
After messing around, I learned a few things. One, there’s no “one size fits all” crosshair. You gotta experiment. Two, even small changes can make a big difference in your aim. And three, it takes time to adjust to new settings, so don’t give up too quickly.
Other codes I’m considering
I have also found some other codes for crosshairs that are looking pretty good. They are considered the top 5 best CS2 crosshairs from some video. I haven’t tried them yet but I’m listing them here so I can come back later to test them out, or maybe you can try them and let me know:

My Conclusion for Now
So, where am I at now? I’m sticking with a modified version of tarik’s crosshair for now. Style 4, size around 2 or 3, and a gap of -2. It’s not perfect, but it’s working better than what I had before. But hey, I’m always open to tweaking things. If you got any suggestions or want to share your own crosshair settings, hit me up in the comments. Let’s figure this out together, folks!
