Okay, so I got really into wrestling lately, and SummerSlam 2023 was coming up. I figured, why not try to make things a bit more interesting? So I decided to place some bets. First time doing this, by the way, so I was pretty clueless.

I started by looking around for, you know, where to even find the odds. I just Googled “SummerSlam 2023 betting odds,” and a bunch of sites popped up. It was kinda overwhelming, to be honest. So many numbers and names!
I picked a couple of sites that looked, well, not too sketchy. And then, I tried to understand what all those plus and minus signs meant. It took a bit of reading, but I eventually figured out that the plus sign means that wrestler is the underdog, and the minus sign means they’re the favorite. Or at least, I think that’s what it means.
- Roman Reigns (-2000) – This guy was a HUGE favorite.
- Cody Rhodes (+700) – Big underdog, apparently.
- …and a whole bunch of other names I kinda recognized.
I spent a good hour just looking at the different matches and the odds. I wasn’t about to bet on every single match – I’m not made of money! I decided to focus on a few that I felt, I dunno, somewhat confident about. Or at least, where I liked the wrestlers.
My “Strategy” (if you can call it that)
Honestly, my “strategy” was mostly just going with my gut. I picked a couple of underdogs that I thought had a decent chance, and one favorite that seemed like a pretty safe bet (though, of course, there’s no such thing as a truly safe bet).
I placed my bets – nothing crazy, just a few bucks here and there. I mean, it was more about having fun than actually trying to win big. I wrote down my little bet slips and prepared for the battle.

Then came the actual SummerSlam. I watched the matches, yelling at the TV like a maniac. Some of my bets won, some lost. It was a rollercoaster, that’s for sure!
In the end, did I get rich? Nope. Did I have a blast? Absolutely! I’ll probably I do this again, but now need to learn more!
