Okay, so I’ve been messing around with these two quarterbacks, Brock Purdy and Justin Fields, trying to figure out which one’s gonna be better for my fantasy team, and maybe even long-term in the real NFL. It’s been a whole thing, let me tell you.

First, I watched a ton of game film. Like, hours. Not just highlights, but full games, trying to see how they handle different situations. I started with Purdy. The dude’s accuracy is seriously impressive. He puts the ball right where it needs to be, even under pressure.
- Made coffee. Needed it.
- Booted up the computer, logged in, etc…
Diving Deep into Purdy
With Purdy, I noticed a few things.
He’s got a quick release, and it looks good most of the time.
But, every now and again he can throw some ducks or be off target.

I kept pausing, rewinding, and I did that a lot, looking to see how the play develops.
Switching Gears to Fields
Then I switched over to Fields. Man, that guy can run. It’s insane. He’s like a video game character out there, dodging defenders and making huge plays with his legs.
I did the same process I did with Purdy, with rewinding, and pausing.
But, his passing… it’s a work in progress. Sometimes he’s on the money, but other times he’s way off, or he holds onto the ball too long and takes a sack. It’s frustrating to watch because you see the potential, but it’s not always there.
Comparing and Analyzing The Two
So, after all this “research,” I started comparing them directly. I made a little chart, you know, pros and cons for each. Purdy’s got the accuracy and decision-making, Fields has the athleticism and big-play potential. It’s like, do you want the safe, reliable guy, or the risky, high-reward guy?

I even went down a rabbit hole, looking at their stats, their offensive lines, their coaches, everything. My wife thought I was going crazy, spending so much time on this. Maybe I am. But it’s fun, right?
In the end, after gathering all the data, it was finally time to make my decision.
My Conclusion
It’s tough, it really is. For this year, for fantasy? I think I’m leaning towards Purdy. He’s just more consistent, and I need those points every week. But long-term, if Fields can develop his passing, he could be something special. It’s a gamble, but it might be worth taking. And so, I made my decision, logged into my fantasy account, and locked it in.
So, yeah, that’s my Purdy vs. Fields deep dive. It was a journey, but that’s what makes this all fun. For now.
