Alright, let’s talk about this Sox vs Twins game, you know, the baseball thing. Folks been askin’ me, “Who ya think gonna win?” Well, shoot, I ain’t got no crystal ball, but I can tell ya what I see.
Them Twins, they been playin’ pretty good lately, winnin’ a bunch of games in a row. Heard tell they got a nine-game win streak goin’ at one point. That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Must be hittin’ that ball real good and catchin’ it too. Heard they got a fella named… uh… somethin’ or other, hits them balls real far. Good for them, I guess.
Now, the Sox, them fellas been havin’ a rough time. Losin’ a whole mess of games. Can’t seem to catch a break, poor things. Hear tell they lost like, three in a row, even four sometimes. Bless their hearts, they just ain’t been hittin’ or catchin’ like they should. Maybe they need some new bats or somethin’. Or maybe just some good luck.
So, if you ask me, and you did, I’d say the Twins got a better chance. They been winnin’, Sox been losin’. Simple as that. Ain’t no rocket science, you know? Just common sense.
But, hey, baseball’s a funny game. Anything can happen. One day you’re up, the next you’re down. Like that time my prize-winning rooster, Henrietta, decided he was a hen and started layin’… well, nothin’. Upsets happen. So, don’t go bettin’ your life savings on it, or you might end up like ol’ Jed, walkin’ around with holes in his shoes and a frown on his face.
Now, they talk about these “odds” and “predictions.” Sounds fancy, but it just means some folks thinkin’ they know who’s gonna win. They say the Twins is the “favorites,” which means they think the Twins gonna win. Makes sense, considerin’ what I just told ya. But, like I said, baseball’s tricky. Them Sox could surprise ya. Maybe they all had a good breakfast that day and start hittin’ like crazy. You never know.
I heard tell the game’s gonna be at somethin’ called “Target Field.” Sounds like a place where they shoot arrows or somethin’. But I reckon it’s just the name of their ball field. And it’s gonna be on sometime in the afternoon. Good time for a game, I suppose. Not too hot, not too cold. Just right for sittin’ and watchin’ them fellas run around.

And remember, it’s just a game. No need to get all riled up about it. Win or lose, the sun’ll still rise tomorrow, and the chickens will still need feedin’. That’s the way I see it, anyways. One more thing, they say the game’s gonna be on somethin’ called “BSN.” Don’t know what that is, but if you wanna watch it, you gotta find that channel, I guess. Maybe it’s on that picture box thingy my grandson got me. Still can’t figure that dang thing out. Too many buttons. Give me a good old radio any day.
