Okay, so I was chilling on the couch, doing the NYT crossword, as you do. And bam, I hit this clue: “Actor Seth of ‘Superbad’.” My brain immediately went, “Okay, Seth… Seth… Rogen?” But then I started counting the letters. Nope, too long.

So, I’m sitting there, racking my brain. I even tried to remember other actors named Seth. Seth Green? Nope, not from ‘Superbad’. Seth Meyers? Definitely not. I was stumped.
The Struggle Was Real
I went through all the usual steps. I stared at the blank squares, hoping inspiration would magically strike. I tried filling in other answers, hoping the intersecting letters would give me a hint. Nothing. I even hummed the Superbad theme song under my breath for good measure. It has happened * nothing!
Then, it hit me. I was so focused on “Seth” that I forgot about the most basic approach. The clue is “actor Seth of ‘Superbad’.”
I Started think about the other ‘Superbad’ * I realized the name has to be very short if it is in the NYT Crossword.
The “Aha!” Moment
Finally, I realized the question means an actor’s last name is Seth, and he stared in ‘Superbad’.It must be “ROGEN”.

I slapped myself so hard. I felt like a genius and a complete idiot at the same time. I typed it in, and boom, it fit perfectly. The rest of the puzzle fell into place pretty quickly after that.
So, lesson learned, I guess, sometimes you gotta think outside the box, and sometimes you’ve gotta get the obvious. I should be more focus and don’t miss the easy ones.
