Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Selkirk Jack Sock” thing popping up everywhere, and, honestly, I was curious. I mean, it’s a sock…for a paddle? But hey, I’m always up for trying new pickleball gear, so I figured, why not?

First, I ordered one. It was pretty easy to find online, just a quick search, boom, there it was. I picked a color that I liked – gotta look good on the court, right?
When it arrived, I was like, “Okay, it’s literally just a sock.” But a really nice, soft sock. It felt pretty thick and seemed like it would actually protect my paddle. My paddle’s been getting a bit scratched up in my bag, banging against other stuff, so that’s a plus.
The “Putting It On” Process
Getting it on the paddle was…well, it was like putting on a sock. You just slide it over the paddle face. Nothing complicated there. It fit snugly, which is good. I didn’t want it slipping off all the time.
I tested carrying my paddle with Jack Sock in my pickleball bag.
- It did a good job of keeping the paddle face from getting scratched.
- It also prevented the paddle from scratching other stuff in my bag.
- It also can absorb the sweat of paddle grip.
The main thing I noticed is that it does add a bit of protection. My paddle felt safer in my bag, and I wasn’t as worried about it getting dinged up. Is it a game-changer? Maybe not. But it’s a nice little accessory, and if it helps keep my paddle in good shape for longer, I’m all for it.

So, that’s my experience with the Selkirk Jack Sock. It’s simple, it does what it’s supposed to, and it makes me feel a little better about protecting my gear. If you’re super careful with your paddle, you might not need it, but if you’re like me and tend to just throw everything in your bag, it’s worth checking out.
