Yo, what’s up, guys! It’s your boy back again with another project. Today, we’re diving into the world of custom cleats. Specifically, I’m gonna show you how I made some sick Off-White style cleats.
So, I started with a pair of plain white Nike Edge Pro 2 football cleats. These are my go-to because they’re comfy and durable. I knew I wanted to give them that signature Off-White look, but I also needed them to hold up on the field.
First things first, I prepped the cleats. Cleaned them up real good, made sure there was no dirt or anything that could mess with the paint. Then came the fun part – the design. I sketched out a few ideas, but I wanted to use these words, “Off-White” and “Nike” , just like the real deal, so I got some vinyl cutouts made.
- Prepped the cleats: Cleaned them thoroughly.
- Designed the look: Sketched and finalized the Off-White inspired design.
- Applied vinyl: Carefully placed the vinyl cutouts on the cleats.
Once the vinyl was on, I started painting. I used a mix of hand-painting and some more vinyl for the smaller details. I wanted to make them look like real off-white, so it took a few layer, but man, the result was fire.
After the paint dried, I hit them with a sealant. This is key, especially for football cleats. You gotta make sure that paint ain’t going nowhere, even when you’re making those crazy cuts on the field. I used a couple of coats, just to be safe.
The final touch was adding some custom laces. I found these online, and they had that Off-White vibe, with the text and everything. Swapped out the stock laces, and boom, the cleats were done.
The Result
These cleats turned out way better than I expected. They look dope, and they’re holding up great on the field. I’ve gotten a ton of compliments, and a few people have even asked me to make them a pair. I’m thinking about opening up a little side hustle, customizing cleats for other players. Who knows, might even start a whole custom cleat business. What do you guys think? Drop a comment and let me know if you’d cop a pair of these Off-White style cleats.
Anyway, that’s it for this project. Hope you guys enjoyed it. If you want to see more custom gear projects, let me know in the comments. Peace out!
