Okay, so I’ve been digging into baseball stats lately, specifically looking at pitchers who’ve racked up a bunch of wins. I got curious about the Minnesota Twins and their history of 20-game winners. It’s a pretty cool club to be in, you know? So, I started by just poking around online.

My Deep Dive into Twins’ 20-Game Winners
First, I spent some time browsing. I mean, really just getting a feel for things. I wanted to see how many Twins pitchers had actually hit that 20-win mark.
Then, I started to compile the names. I created a simple list at first, jotting down each pitcher and the year (or years) they achieved the feat. It was kind of messy at the start, just notes on a piece of paper. This is when it got real.
- Jim Kaat
- Bert Blyleven
- …and a few others!
After getting the basic list, I decided to get more organized. I moved everything to a spreadsheet. Much cleaner! I added columns for things like ERA, strikeouts, and complete games. It’s amazing to see all those numbers lined up and compare those dominant seasons.
Finally,I also read the data and get what I need to find.
It was a fun little project. I learned a lot about some great Twins pitchers and really appreciated the history of the team. It definitely gave me a new perspective on what it takes to be a truly dominant starting pitcher in the major leagues!
