Okay, here is my sharing about the BCS Championship 2012:
Man, I still remember that 2012 BCS National Championship game like it was yesterday. I decided to throw a little viewing party at my place. I invited a bunch of friends over, we stocked up on snacks and drinks, and we were all set for a good time. I was pulling for Alabama, you know, being an SEC guy and all.
The game started, and right off the bat, you could tell it wasn’t gonna be a high-scoring affair. It was a real defensive battle. Both teams were just slugging it out, but neither could really get anything going offensively. Alabama’s kicker, Jeremy Shelley, kept us in the game though. That guy was money, nailing field goal after field goal.
- First quarter, no score.
- Second quarter, Shelley hit a couple of field goals.
- Third quarter, more of the same, another field goal from Shelley.
- Fourth quarter, Shelley added two more, and Alabama’s defense just shut down LSU completely.
I remember us yelling at the TV, cheering on every defensive stop, and going crazy every time Shelley split the uprights. The tension was thick, but we were loving it. We watched the game, every minute, until the end.
And then, the final whistle blew. Alabama won, 21-0! A shutout in the national championship game! We erupted, high-fiving, hollering, the whole nine yards. It was such a satisfying win, especially after that regular-season loss to LSU. I cleaned up the mess, said goodbye to my friends, and went to bed with a big smile on my face.
That game, it was a classic. A defensive masterpiece. And it cemented Alabama’s place as the best team in the country that year. What a night, what a game, it’s one I’ll never forget. The memory still brings joy to me today. That 2012 championship was one for the books!
