Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Rays City Connect Skateboard thing, ya know? I ain’t no fancy writer or nothin’, but I’ll tell ya what I know.
So, this Rays team, they got these new get-ups, right? They call ’em “City Connect” somethin’ somethin’. Fancy names for fancy clothes, I reckon. They look kinda flashy, not like the regular baseball stuff. Got all sorts of colors and… doodles on ’em. My grandson, he likes that kinda stuff. Kids these days, always chasin’ after the shiny things.
Now, they say Tampa Bay, where this Rays team plays, is a big deal for… skateboards. Who knew? I always thought them skateboards was just for kids to break their necks on. But apparently, they make ’em down there, they got a place for them fancy tricks, and they even have some kinda big contest every year. My neighbor’s boy got one of them skateboards, always clattering down the street. Loud as a rooster in the mornin’.
So, the Rays, they put a picture on their hats. A picture of a… stingray, ya know, like the fish, and a bridge. They call it the “Sunshine Skyway” bridge. Sounds pretty, I guess. They say it’s to show off all the different kinds of folks and stories they got in Tampa Bay. Well, that’s nice and all, but I still don’t see what it’s got to do with hitting a ball with a stick.
The Rays, they seem real proud of this skateboard connection. Maybe them players are good at skatin’ too? I dunno. Seems like a strange mix to me, baseball and skateboards. Like mixin’ grits and ice cream. Just don’t seem right.
My boy, he used to play baseball, you know? Wore them plain white pants and a shirt with the team name. Nothin’ fancy. Just good ol’ baseball. Now they got all these colors and… and these skateboard designs. Times sure are changin’, I tell ya.
- The Rays got new uniforms. They call ‘em City Connect.
- Tampa Bay is a big place for skateboards.
- The Rays put a picture of a stingray and a bridge on their hats.
- The Rays want to show off all the different kinds of folks in Tampa Bay.
Now, somethin’ I heard about them skateboards. They ain’t really supposed to be ridin’ ‘em in the streets. Too dangerous, they say. Cars and all. My grandson, he tries to sneak off with that skateboard sometimes, but I always tell him, “You stay outta that street, ya hear? You wanna end up lookin’ like a pancake?” He don’t listen half the time, kids these days… stubborn as mules.
So, back to this Rays and their skateboard get-ups. I guess they’re tryin’ to be… hip? Is that what the kids say? Tryin’ to get them young folks interested in baseball, maybe? I dunno. Seems like a lot of fuss over a uniform. But hey, what do I know? I’m just an old lady who likes her baseball plain and simple.
I heard them uniforms are sellin’ pretty good, though. Folks are buyin’ them hats and shirts and… I guess they even got skateboards with the Rays logo on ‘em. See? They knew what they was doin’. Makin’ money, that’s what it’s all about. Can’t fault ’em for that, I guess.
So, to sum it all up, these Rays, they got these new “City Connect” uniforms with a skateboard theme because Tampa Bay is a skateboard place. They got a picture of a fish and a bridge on their hats, and they’re sellin’ lots of stuff. And my grandson still ain’t supposed to be ridin’ his skateboard in the street. That about covers it, I reckon. Don’t go expectin’ no fancy words from me, I just tell it like it is.
