Okay, so I saw this thing about Raul Rosas Jr.’s chin and I was like, “Alright, let’s see what the fuss is about.” I’m no expert, but I wanted to try and figure this out myself. I’ve been messing around, watching videos, and trying to understand the whole deal.

My Little Experiment
First, I watched a bunch of his fights. I mean, a lot. I wanted to see how he took hits, how he reacted, and if there was anything that really stood out. You know, just eyeballing it, at first.
- Spent hours on YouTube. Seriously, hours.
- Paused, rewound, slow-motion – the whole nine yards.
- My wife thought I was crazy.
Then I started comparing. I looked at other fighters, trying to get a sense of what a “good” chin versus a “questionable” chin even looked like. It’s all subjective, right? But I wanted to see if I could spot any differences.
- More YouTube. My watch history is all MMA now.
- Compared him to the fighter.
- Tried to be as objective as possible, but, let’s be real, it’s tough.
I tried to break it down into a few key things, I focused on:
- Reaction to punches: How did it react to the punch.
- Recovery: Did it recover quickly, or was it lingering?
- Overall posture: Did his posture change or not.
After all this “research” (and I use that term loosely), I realized something: It is not easy work to do.
I’m just a dude watching videos, not a professional analyst.

Ultimately, this was just a fun little experiment for me. I wanted to see if I could teach myself something new by just diving in and messing around. And you know what? I think I did learn a thing or two. At least, I have a better appreciation for how tough it is to figure these things out!
