Alright, so I wanted to get into this whole vintage vibe, and what better way to do it than by digging up the old-school logo of the Philadelphia Eagles? I’ve always been a fan of their current look, but there’s something about those retro designs that just hits different. So I set out to find that classic Eagles logo, the one that screams old-school football.
First off, I hit up the usual spots online, trying to find a good quality image of the vintage logo. It’s not as easy as you’d think. There are tons of versions out there, but many are low-res or just plain inaccurate. I scoured through pages of search results, clicked through countless images, and finally, I stumbled upon a decent version. It wasn’t perfect, but it was a good starting point.
Now, I wanted this logo to be crisp and clean, so I fired up my trusty image editing software. I loaded the image and started working on it. I zoomed in close, cleaned up the edges, and removed any unwanted noise or artifacts. Then I went ahead and sharpened the image to bring out the details.
- Zoom in close to the image.
- Clean up the edges.
- Remove noise or artifacts.
- Sharpen to make it look nicer.
After that I vectorized the whole thing. Basically, I traced over the image, converting it from a pixel-based format to a vector format. This is crucial because it means I can scale the logo up or down without losing any quality. No more blurry or pixelated logos, no matter how big or small I need them to be.
The final step was choosing the colors. I researched the original colors used in the vintage logo and made sure to match them perfectly. I wanted that authentic feel, like it was pulled straight out of the history books. Once the colors were set, I saved the logo in various formats. I made sure I had versions suitable for web use, print, and anything else I might need.
And there you have it! I now have a perfectly restored Philadelphia Eagles vintage logo, ready to be used on whatever I want. I might slap it on a custom t-shirt, print it out for a poster, or even use it as a wallpaper for my phone. The possibilities are endless!
A little recap
I found a good base image, cleaned it up, vectorized it, and then matched the original colors. It was a bit of work, but totally worth it in the end.
This whole process got me thinking about how much design has evolved over the years. It’s cool to see how the Eagles logo has changed and to be able to bring a piece of that history back to life. Hope you guys enjoyed this little project as much as I did!
