Well, let me tell you about this fella, Shohei Ohtani. Folks keep jabberin’ ‘bout him, sayin’ he’s somethin’ special. I ain’t never seen a baseball game in my life, but even I heard ‘bout him. They say he throws the ball real hard, like a rocket, they call it a “fastball”. And then he got this other one, a “sweeper” they say, makes the ball do funny things. And don’t forget the “splitter”! Sounds like he’s got a whole bag of tricks up his sleeve, this fella.
This Ohtani fella, he’s a strong one, I tell ya. They say he hits the ball a country mile. Knocks it right outta the park, they do. Folks call it a “home run.” Sounds like a powerful swing he’s got. He ain’t just lucky, though. They say he’s been practicin’ since he was just a young’un. Guess that’s how you get good at somethin’, puttin’ in the time and effort, day in and day out.
- He throws real hard.
- He hits the ball real far.
- He’s been practicin’ since he was young.
Now, some folks, they weren’t so sure ‘bout him at first. Said he couldn’t hit big-league pitchin’. Said he was just like a “high school hitter”. Imagine that! But he showed ‘em, didn’t he? He’s hittin’ all sorts of pitches, even those fast ones, they call ‘em “four-seam fastballs.” He’s good at hittin’ pretty much anythin’ they throw at him. Reckon he proved them fellas wrong, good and proper.
But even this Ohtani fella, he ain’t perfect, mind you. They say he throws some wild ones sometimes. And sometimes he hits the batters, which I reckon ain’t too pleasant for them fellas. Nobody’s perfect, I always say. We all make mistakes, even the best of us. But it sounds like he’s still doin’ pretty darn good, considerin’.
They even made a new rule for him, they did. They call it the “Shohei Ohtani rule.” Seems like he’s so good at pitchin’ and hittin’ that they had to make a special rule just for him. Now, he can be the pitcher and the hitter all at once, in the same game. Imagine that! Never heard of such a thing. This fella must be somethin’ else, I tell ya.
From what I hear, he’s leadin’ the league in some things, like those wild pitches and hittin’ batters. But he’s also knockin’ it out of the park, that’s for sure. He hits all sorts of pitches real good, especially those fast ones. He’s a strong hitter, that’s what they say. And that’s important in baseball, seems to me. You gotta be strong to hit that ball far.
So, this Ohtani fella, he’s somethin’ special, alright. He can pitch, he can hit, and he can do both at the same time! Folks are all talkin’ ‘bout him, sayin’ he’s the best they’ve ever seen. Now, I don’t know much ‘bout baseball, but I reckon he must be pretty good if even I’ve heard of him. He works hard, and he’s got that talent, a real gift from God, I’d say. And that’s what it takes to be the best, workin’ hard and havin’ that special somethin’.
I tell you what, it’s somethin’ to see a fella like that, doin’ things nobody else can do. It gives you a little somethin’ to admire, somethin’ to talk about. And that’s important, especially these days. We need somethin’ to lift our spirits, somethin’ to make us smile. And from what I hear, this Ohtani fella, he’s doin’ just that for a whole lotta folks.
