Okay, so the other day, I got curious about how big NFL linebackers actually are. I mean, we see them on TV, making these incredible plays, but it’s hard to get a sense of their actual size. So, I decided to do a little digging.

First, I hit up Google – you know, the usual starting point. I just typed in “NFL linebacker size” and started browsing through the results. There were a bunch of articles and forum discussions, but nothing really concrete.
Then, I checked out some official NFL team websites. I figured they might have player profiles with height and weight listed. And sure enough, they did! I started pulling up a few different teams and jotting down the stats for their linebackers.
It was actually pretty interesting! I noticed most of them are like, between 6’1″ and 6’4″, which is taller than I thought. And weight-wise, most were in the 230-250 pound range. Some are bigger some are smaller. Pretty solid, huh?
My Key Findings
- Height Most are in the 6’1″ to 6’4″ range.
- Weight Mostly between 230 and 250 pounds.
After I gathered all this info, I threw it into a simple spreadsheet. Just to organize, you know? I figured, why not. I mean, once you see the numbers, it’s way more impactful than just seeing them on the field. You can see the smallest and biggest of the bunch.
So yeah, that’s basically what I did. It wasn’t rocket science, but it definitely gave me a better appreciation for the size and athleticism of these guys. I was simple but I had fun.
