What’s up, guys! I’m back with another prediction for you today, and this time, it’s all about the New York Knicks. The 2024-2025 NBA season is right around the corner, and I’ve been spending the last few days digging into everything I can find about the Knicks.
My first move was to check out what the folks in Vegas are saying. I looked at the current odds for the Knicks to make the playoffs and even win the championship. The numbers are, well, interesting. It seems like Vegas isn’t completely sold on the Knicks being a top contender, which got me thinking.
Next up, I found an article with some bold predictions. I mean, one of them was that the Knicks would win it all! I had to chuckle a little because, as a long-time Knicks fan, I know better than to get my hopes up too high. Still, it got me thinking about what would need to happen for that dream to become a reality.
I also saw that some folks are predicting the Knicks will win under 54.5 games. That’s a pretty specific number, but it seemed low to me, considering they traded Julius Randle. Maybe the team will improve without him.
- Then there were the game previews. I read about a specific matchup with the Orlando Magic where the Knicks were favored by 5 points. I also noted that a bench player might have a big game due to a unique scheduling spot. It’s little things like this that can make or break a prediction.
- I also checked the latest odds for the Knicks vs. Magic game. Knicks were -262, which means they’re the favorites, but not overwhelmingly so. I make a mental note to see how that game turns out.
- I stumbled upon some historical data about the Knicks, too. Did you know the 2014-2015 season was their 69th in the NBA? They also set a franchise record for losses that year with 65. Ouch! That’s the kind of history I’m trying to forget, but it’s a good reminder of how unpredictable sports can be.
After all this digging, I’m starting to form my own opinion. Considering they won a record 18th championship last season, it seems the Celtics will be the favorite. But I think the Knicks have a real shot at surprising everyone. They have a solid team, and if a few things go their way, they could definitely make some noise in the Eastern Conference. I mean, they are favored in most games I’ve seen.
So, what’s my final prediction? I’m not going to say they’ll win the championship just yet. But I do think they’ll win more than 54 games. I’m going to keep a close eye on them throughout the season and see how things develop. Stay tuned for more updates, and let me know what you think in the comments!
Oh, and one last thing. I learned that “Knicks” is actually short for “Knickerbockers.” How about that?
