Alright, so I wanted to check out the player stats from that Kansas Jayhawks versus UNLV football game. Been curious about how the individual players stacked up, beyond just the final score, you know?

First thing I did was get on my computer. Opened up my usual web browser. Didn’t have a specific site in mind right away, so I just punched something like ‘kansas jayhawks unlv football game stats players’ into the search bar. Pretty straightforward.
Got a load of results back, mostly big sports news sites and official team pages. I started clicking through a couple of the top ones. Some sites just give you the score and maybe team stats, which wasn’t quite what I wanted. I needed the individual player stuff.
Finding the Good Stuff
Finally landed on a couple of pages that had proper box scores. That’s usually where the gold is. I started looking at the offensive side first, obviously. Quarterbacks are always the main interest.
- Checked the Kansas QB: Looked for passing yards, completions, touchdowns, interceptions. Got a feel for their efficiency.
- Looked at the UNLV QB: Did the same thing. Compared their numbers side-by-side. How many attempts versus completions, that kind of thing.
Then I moved onto the running backs. Wanted to see who carried the load. Looked for carries, rushing yards, average yards per carry, and touchdowns on the ground. Did this for both Kansas and UNLV. Sometimes you see a guy had a ton of yards, but it took him a boatload of carries, you know?
After that, I checked the receivers. Who was getting the targets? Who had the most catches, receiving yards, and importantly, those receiving touchdowns. Sometimes a receiver has a huge game even if the QB stats don’t look amazing overall.

Didn’t Forget Defense
Offense is flashy, but I tried to dig into the defensive stats too. This can be a bit harder to find detailed breakdowns for sometimes, but I looked for:
- Leading tacklers: Who was making the stops for both teams.
- Sacks: Which defenders were getting to the quarterback.
- Turnovers: Looked for who got interceptions or forced/recovered fumbles.
It took a bit of clicking around between a couple of different sports stats pages. Not always perfectly laid out on one single screen. Sometimes you gotta piece it together. But yeah, found the numbers I was looking for. Gave me a much better picture of who really showed up in that matchup, beyond just the team win or loss. Just a bit of digging, really.
