Okay, so the other day I was messing around with my Ultimate Team in FC 24. Trying to build a decent Premier League squad, nothing too flashy, just solid players. And I got to thinking about strikers.

Ivan Toney popped into my head. Remember him? Big comeback story after his ban. I was curious, you know? Like, what did EA actually give him for a rating in the latest game? Did they update him after he started playing again?
First thought was just boot up the PlayStation. But honestly, I was comfy on the sofa, didn’t feel like waiting for everything to load just for one number. Lazy, I know.
So, I just grabbed my phone. Opened up the browser, standard stuff. Typed in something simple, like ‘toney fc 24 rating’. Didn’t need anything fancy.
Got a bunch of results back pretty quick. You know how it is, loads of sports sites, fan forums, the usual suspects.
- Clicked on one that looked like a proper database site.
- Scrolled past the ads, always gotta scroll past the ads.
- Found his player page.
And there it was. His overall rating. Saw his pace, shooting, physical stats too. Pretty decent, actually. I saw it listed as 80. Yeah, 80 sounded about right for where he landed after coming back into the mix.

My thoughts on it…
Seemed fair enough, considering the time off he had. Maybe not spectacular, but definitely usable in the game for sure. His physical stat looked quite high, which makes sense if you’ve seen him play. Shooting looked solid too.
It’s always interesting how they decide these ratings. Like, is it one person watching games? A whole committee arguing? Do they throw darts at a board? Must be a real headache trying to keep thousands of players updated all the time. Especially when you have situations like Toney’s long break.
Anyway, got the number I was looking for. Took maybe two minutes just tapping away on my phone. Now I have a better idea of what his card offers if I decide I want to try him out in my Prem team, maybe pick him up if he’s not too expensive on the market. Just a quick little bit of research, part of the whole football fan thing, I guess.
