Alright everyone, just wanted to share what I got up to today. Decided to finally give that gale lewis zone wars map a try. Heard a few folks talking about it, figured I’d jump in and see what the fuss was about.

Getting Started
So, I loaded it up. Took a second to figure out the lobby system, nothing too crazy though. Got myself into a match pretty quick. The waiting area was kinda standard, you know, the usual countdown timer and seeing other players run around.
First Few Rounds
Okay, dropped into the first round. It throws you right into the action, small circle already forming. My first impression? It felt fast. Like, really fast. The storm was closing in almost immediately, which definitely forces you to move and engage.
I grabbed the starting loadout they give you. Seemed pretty fair, everyone gets the same stuff, which is good. No one starting with some super weapon right away.
- Got into a build fight almost instantly. It was messy, chaotic even. Lots of players crammed into a small space.
- I tried to play it smart, stick to the edge of the zone, maybe pick off people rotating late. Worked sometimes, other times I just got sandwiched between two other players.
- Got eliminated pretty quickly the first couple of rounds, not gonna lie. Took me a bit to adjust to the pacing and how aggressive everyone was playing.
Finding a Rhythm
After a few rounds, I started getting the hang of it. I realized playing too passively wasn’t really the way to go here. You kinda have to push forward, take space when you can.
Building was key, obviously. Quick edits, boxing up, taking high ground – all the usual stuff, but way faster. If you hesitated, you were basically done for. I focused on just trying to survive the initial chaos and then look for smarter fights once the player count dropped a bit.

There was one round where I actually managed to get down to the final three. Had a pretty intense fight with another player, lots of building and repositioning. Ended up getting third place, which felt like a small victory after getting stomped earlier.
Final Thoughts
So, yeah, spent a good hour or so running that map. It’s definitely intense. Good practice for quick decision-making and handling pressure in late-game scenarios.
Was it perfect? Nah, sometimes it felt a little too chaotic, maybe spawning could be tweaked, but overall, it did what it was supposed to do. It forces action, makes you practice fighting in tight, moving zones.
I’d say if you’re looking for some fast-paced end-game practice, give the gale lewis zone wars a shot. Just be ready to jump straight into the fire. I’ll probably run it again sometime soon, try and get that win.
