Okay, so I wanted to mess around with the player ratings in MLB The Show. You know, see what happens if I made a whole team of absolute beasts, or maybe just tweak some stats here and there. First thing I did was fire up the game and go straight to the roster section. You can find it pretty easily in the main menu.
Once I got into the rosters, I could look at all the real-life MLB teams, which is cool. I picked a team I know well, just to make things easier. Let’s say I chose the Dodgers because I know their players, but it really could be any team. Then you can just go player by player, checking out their stats. They got everything – hitting, fielding, speed, even how good they are at stealing bases.
- Start the game and navigate to roster settings.
- Select a team to customize.
- Adjust individual player ratings as desired.
Now, this is where it gets interesting. I could click on any player and start messing with their numbers. Want to make Mookie Betts even faster? Boom, bump up that speed rating. Want to turn some benchwarmer into a home run king? Crank up that power. It’s super easy to do, you just move the sliders. They have got ratings for, like, 20 different things. It is crazy. I spent hours in here, just going through and changing stuff.
After I was done making my super-team, or whatever, I made sure to save the roster. It asks you, so you can make sure. You do not want to lose all that work. Then I went and started a new franchise with my edited roster. It was wild. My boosted-up guys were crushing it. But also, I made some other teams super weird. It made the whole game different and way more fun.
My Conclusion
Honestly, messing with the roster ratings in MLB The Show is a blast. It’s cool to see how the game changes when you tweak the players. If you’re into the game, give it a shot. It is a really good time.
