Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into MLB The Show 24’s Franchise mode, and let me tell you, there are some changes this year. I wanted to share my experience messing around with it, from start to finish.
Getting Started
First, I fired up the game and jumped straight into Franchise. I picked my favorite team – gotta represent! – and then I was hit with all the options. You can do a standard Franchise, a March to October, or even a custom league. I went with the standard, classic experience for this run-through.
The Core Experience
Once I was in, it felt pretty familiar. You know, managing the roster, setting lineups, playing games, all that good stuff. I started simulating a few games to get a feel for the team and see how my players were performing.
- One thing I noticed right away was the updated player progression system. Seems like prospects develop a little differently now, and it’s not just about raw potential anymore. I really dig that change!
- I started tinkering with the trade logic, too. Seems a bit tougher to fleece the AI this year, which is… well, it’s probably for the best, even if it makes my life a little harder.
- The scouting seems like a major change. It’s much more engaging.
Diving Deeper
After a few weeks in-game, I really started exploring the menus. There’s a ton of data to dig through, from player stats to team finances. I spent a good hour just looking at scouting reports and trying to find some hidden gems in the draft pool.
I also started messing with the new customization options. You can tweak a lot of things, from stadium dimensions to ticket prices. It’s pretty cool to be able to put your own personal stamp on your franchise.
Running into Some Hiccups
It wasn’t all smooth sailing, though. I ran into a couple of minor bugs – nothing game-breaking, but a little annoying. I think there were a few times the game froze. But I restarted and it’s good.
Overall Impressions
All in all, I’m really enjoying Franchise mode in MLB The Show 24. The changes they’ve made have definitely added some depth and realism, and I’m excited to keep playing and see how my team develops over the long haul. It’s a solid step up, and I think fans of the series will appreciate it. I’ve certainly put my money’s worth of time into it!
