Okay, here we go! My attempt at “challenge failed mlb the show 24”, blog style.
Alright, folks, lemme tell you about my epic fail with MLB The Show 24. I thought I was hot stuff, ready to dominate. Spoiler alert: the game had other plans.
It all started so well. I fired up the game, feeling confident. I decided to tackle a new Franchise mode, thinking I’d build a dynasty from the ground up. Picked a struggling team, the works. I dove right in, skipped all the tutorials – who needs ’em, right?
First mistake.
The revamped hitting system? Completely threw me for a loop. I was swinging wildly, missing pitches by a mile. It felt like I was playing the game for the first time. I used to be a decent hitter in the previous games, timing was my jam, now i can’t even hit a single.
I messed with the settings, trying to find my groove. Zone hitting? Nope. Directional? Still a disaster. I even tried the classic button mashing, but the game just laughed at me.
Things got worse on the pitching side. My carefully planned strategies? Useless. The AI hitters were crushing everything. Fastballs, changeups, sliders – they were all going yard. I tweaked my pitch mix, adjusted my release points, nothing worked. My ERA ballooned to something resembling a phone number.
At this point, I was getting frustrated. Real frustrated. I started yelling at the TV, blaming the game, blaming the players, blaming the weather. You name it, I blamed it. My win-loss record quickly went into the toilet.
I thought maybe I could salvage something in the player development area, but even that went wrong. I drafted prospects who turned out to be busts. My coaching staff was apparently asleep at the wheel. My farm system looked more like a compost heap.
I rage quit. Several times.
I even considered going back to MLB The Show 23, where at least I had a semblance of control. But I’m stubborn. I decided to stick with it, to learn the new mechanics, to conquer this beast of a game.
So, what did I do? I swallowed my pride and actually watched some tutorials online. I spent hours in practice mode, working on my timing, learning the new batting interface. I experimented with different pitching styles, trying to find what worked best for me.
- Watched YouTube tutorials (shhh! don’t tell anyone).
- Spent time in batting practice.
- Adjusted sliders (lots of adjustments).
It’s still a work in progress. I’m not dominating yet, but I’m starting to see some improvement. My batting average is slowly creeping up, my ERA is coming down (slightly), and I’m actually winning a few games. The key is patience, and learning the new systems. It’s a hard lesson, but it’s also making me a better player.
So, yeah, my initial challenge failed. I got my butt kicked. But I’m not giving up. I’ll keep grinding, keep learning, and eventually, I’ll conquer MLB The Show 24. Or at least, I’ll get a little better at it. Wish me luck!
