Alright, so you wanna know about this Tua fella, the one who throws the football for the Dolphins? Yeah, I heard of him. Folks talkin’ ‘bout him on the TV all the time. Said he’s pretty good, makes a lot of money chuckin’ that pigskin around.
Now, where he come from? That’s what you wanna know, right? Well, they say he’s from some place called Hawaii. That’s way out there, across the big water. Heard it’s real pretty there, lots of sunshine and flowers. Not like here, where it’s mostly dirt and the occasional stubborn weed.
His folks, you say? Hmm, lemme see if I can remember what them TV people were jabberin’ about. Seems like his mama’s name is Diane, yeah, that’s it. Diane. And his daddy, they call him Galu. Galu, like “Na-loo”, they say. Fancy name, ain’t it? Probably hard to yell when he’s bein’ a rascal.
- Mama Diane, she’s from Hawaii too, but her folks, they came from another island, American Samoa, I think they called it. Probably even further out in that big water.
- Daddy Galu, he’s from that American Samoa place too, but he moved to Hawaii when he was just a little shaver, three years old, they said. Imagine that, crossin’ the ocean that young!
Now, Galu, he ain’t just any daddy. He’s a big shot, a CEO they say! Owns somethin’ called Raising Champions LLC. Sounds fancy, huh? Basically, he teaches young’uns how to be good at sports, but also tells ‘em to be good people, mind their manners, and listen to their elders, I reckon. He even coached young Tua, showed him how to throw that football so good.
They say Tua, he loved that football from the get-go. Slept with it, can you believe it? Like a little teddy bear, but a football instead. Musta been one of them small ones, though. Can’t imagine a little tyke sleepin’ with a full-sized ball. Anyways, Galu saw how much his boy loved the game, and after Tua’s grandpa passed on, he told Tua to go for it, be a football star. And look at him now, playin’ for the Dolphins!
Tua, he’s the oldest of four kids. A big brother, you see. Probably has to keep them young’uns in line, make sure they don’t cause too much trouble. Being the oldest ain’t easy, I tell ya. Always gotta be the responsible one.
They say Tua don’t talk much about his personal life. Keeps to himself, I guess. Maybe that’s why folks are so curious about his folks, you know? Want to know where he comes from, what makes him tick.
But lemme tell ya, it don’t matter where you come from, or who your folks are. What matters is what you do with what you got. And Tua, he’s doin’ alright, throwin’ that football and makin’ a name for himself. Good for him, I say. Good for him.
So, that’s the story, as best as I can tell it. Tua, the football player, from Hawaii, with a mama named Diane and a daddy named Galu who taught him everything he knows. Hope that satisfies your curiosity, young’un. Now go on, get outta here and let me get back to my chores. This porch ain’t gonna sweep itself, you know.
Family is important, no matter who you are or where you come from. Even big-time football players need their mamas and daddies. And good parents, they raise good kids. That’s just the way it is, the way it always been.
And another thing, that American Samoa place sounds interesting. Maybe I’ll look it up on that there internet thingy later. See what it’s all about. Always somethin’ new to learn, ain’t there?
