Okay, so I’ve been trying to get better at predicting NBA games. It’s tough, man! But I figured I’d give the Rockets-Hawks game a shot and document my whole process. Hopefully, I learn something, and maybe you will too.

First, I looked up the teams’ records. You know, just the basics. How many wins and losses each team has. Both the Rockets and the Hawks aren’t having the best seasons, that was readily apperent.
Digging a Little Deeper
Then, I tried to find some recent game results. How have they been playing lately? Are they on a winning streak, or have they been losing a bunch? I scrolled through some sports news sites to get a feel for their recent performance. I noticed both teams have been pretty inconsistent – winning some, losing some.
- Rockets: Won 2, Lost 3 of their last 5.
- Hawks: Similar story, Won 3, Lost 2 of their last 5.
Injuries
This is a big one. I checked for any injury reports. Are any key players out? That can totally change a game. I found out that a couple of role players on both sides might be questionable, but no major stars were listed as definitely out.
Head-to-Head
Next, I looked at their head-to-head record. How have these teams done against each other in the past? Sometimes, one team just has another team’s number. I saw they played once earlier this season, and the Hawks won by a decent margin, it wasn’t some close match or anything.
Putting It All Together
Okay, so after all that, I had to, you know, actually make a prediction. It’s always nerve-wracking! Based on what I gathered, I felt like the Hawks had a slight edge. Their recent performance was a tiny bit better, and they won the previous matchup. But, honestly, it felt like a coin flip! Both teams are so unpredictable.

My prediction: I went with the Hawks winning, but not by a lot. I figured it would be a close game, maybe decided by just a few points. And I made sure not to be too confidant.
I’m still learning this whole prediction thing. It is way harder than it looks. But it’s fun to try and break down the games. We’ll see if I was even close!
