Okay, folks, let’s dive into my little experiment with predicting the Knicks game. It wasn’t pretty, but hey, that’s life, right?

So, I got this idea in my head. I’m a huge Knicks fan, always have been, always will be. And I thought, “Wouldn’t it be cool if I could predict the outcome of their games?” I mean, who wouldn’t want to know the future, especially when it comes to your favorite team?
I started by, well, watching a ton of games. Like, a lot of games. I figured the more I watched, the better I’d understand the team’s dynamics, their strengths, their weaknesses, you know, the whole shebang. I literally spent hours just glued to the TV, taking notes like a madman.
My “Super Scientific” Process
Next, I started gathering data. Now, I’m no statistician, so this was pretty basic stuff. I looked at things like:
- Points per game: Seemed obvious enough.
- Opponent’s points per game: Gotta know who we’re up against.
- Recent wins/losses: Momentum is a thing, right?
- Home vs. Away: Because home-court advantage is real.
I put all this into a messy spreadsheet – seriously, it was a disaster to look at. No fancy formulas, just some basic adding and subtracting. I tried to find patterns, like, “Oh, when they score over 100 points, they usually win!” Stuff like that. Very scientific, I know.
Then came the “prediction” part. I’d look at the upcoming game, plug in my numbers, and basically…guess. Yeah, that’s pretty much what it boiled down to. Sometimes I’d feel really confident, like, “This is a sure win!” Other times, I was just throwing darts at a board.

The Results? Let’s just say I won’t be quitting my day job anytime soon. It was a mixed bag. I got some right, I got some wrong, and I got a whole lot of “almosts.” It was more like educated guessing than actual prediction.
But hey, it was fun! I learned a bit more about the game, I got even more invested in the Knicks (if that’s even possible), and I got a good laugh out of my own terrible predictions. Would I do it again? Probably. Would I bet money on it? Absolutely not!
