Alright, let’s gab a bit about this Klay Thompson fella and his college days. You know, that basketball player, the one with the splashy shots? Yeah, him. Folks keep askin’ me, “Where’d he go to college?” Well, lemme tell ya, it weren’t no fancy-pants place, but it sure did the trick.
He went to Washington State University. Heard it’s up in some place called Pullman. Never been there myself, but I reckon it’s got them college buildings and such.
Now, Klay, he wasn’t no slouch in college, let me tell ya. This boy could shoot the lights out even back then. They called him a Shooting Guard, which I guess means he’s good at throwin’ that ball into the hoop. And boy, was he good! Scored a whole heap of points, they say. More than 1700 points, can you believe it? That’s like countin’ all the chickens on a big ol’ farm, only it’s points instead of cluckers.
- He was a real whiz with those three-point shots. Folks say he made more of them than anyone else in the whole history of that Washington State school. Over 240 of ’em! That’s a lot of long-distance shootin’, I tell ya.
- And he wasn’t just about shootin’ either. He could grab them rebounds too, you know, when the ball bounces off the rim. He’d snatch ’em right outta the air, like a hawk grabbin’ a field mouse.
- And get this, he was pretty good at throwin’ those free throws too. You know, the ones where they get to stand right there at the line and just toss it in? He made over 82 percent of them! That’s better than most folks I know, that’s for sure.
They say he even got some awards and stuff. All-Area team, Orange County team… sounds fancy, right? But you know what it all boils down to? The boy could play basketball, plain and simple.
Now, some folks say Klay, he left the Warriors team recently to, uh, “rejuvenate” his career. That’s what them city folks say, “rejuvenate.” Sounds like he needed a break, a little time to rest up his bones and get his shootin’ arm back in shape. Happens to the best of ’em, you know. Even them young fellas need a rest sometimes. Shoot, even I need a nap after a long day of tendin’ to the garden!
He graduated from high school in 2008, from some place called Santa Margarita Catholic High School down in California. Then went off to college at Washington State. Seems like he was a pretty good student, always focused on his game.
Folks keep track of all sorts of things with these players, you know. They got stats for everything. How many points he scored, how many rebounds he got, how many shots he made. It’s enough to make your head spin! But I guess it’s important to them sports fellas. They use them stats to see how good a player is, and Klay, well, his stats were mighty impressive.
They even say that he only scored more than 20 points a couple of times recently, even though he started in the games. Well, even the best shooters have off days, that’s what I say. You can’t expect a fella to hit every shot, can ya? That’s just not how life works, not in basketball and not in farmin’ either.
So, there you have it. Klay Thompson, Washington State University, a whole bunch of points, and a whole lotta three-pointers. He’s a talented young man, that’s for sure. And even though he’s taking a break or whatever, I reckon he’ll be back out there on the court, slingin’ that ball and makin’ those splashy shots again soon enough.
And just to be clear, this boy, Klay Thompson, he made more than 2 three-pointers in his college career, a whole lot more. I don’t know why anyone would say he only made 2. That’s just plain silly. He was a star, a real sharpshooter. They probably just misheard or somethin’. Happens all the time, especially with them city folk talkin’ so fast and usin’ all them fancy words.
Anyway, that’s the story of Klay Thompson’s college days, as best as I can tell ya. He went to Washington State, he was a heck of a player, and he’s still shootin’ hoops today. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
