Alright, so I’ve been messing around with dynasty fantasy football leagues for a while now, and I gotta say, the quarterback position is always a trip. You’re constantly trying to figure out who’s gonna be the next big thing, or who’s gonna fall off a cliff. And that brings me to Jarrett Stidham.

I remember when he was drafted by the Patriots. Everyone was like, “Oh, is he the heir apparent to Tom Brady?” Spoiler alert: he wasn’t. But, I still had him on my radar because, hey, you never know in dynasty.
So, first thing I did was check out some of his college tape. I went back and watched a bunch of his games at Auburn. I wanted to see his mechanics, his decision-making, all that good stuff. He had some flashes of brilliance, I’ll give him that. Strong arm, could make some nice throws. But, he also had some moments where I was like, “Yikes, what was that?”
Then, I dug into his stats. Not just the basic stuff, like passing yards and touchdowns. I went deeper. I looked at things like completion percentage, yards per attempt, interception rate. I compared them to other quarterbacks, trying to get a sense of where he stood. Numbers don’t tell the whole story, of course, but they can give you a good baseline.
The Waiting Game
After his stint with the Patriots, I was paying close attention when he went to Broncos. In Denver, I thought, “Okay, maybe this is his chance.” Russell Wilson was getting older. The broncos did not draft a QB this year, which is a plus for Stidham’s chance. I watched all the Broncos games I could, trying to see how Stidham looked in practice, how he interacted with the coaches, anything I could find.
Trade Value
Now, here’s where it gets interesting for dynasty. I started checking out trade forums and discussions online. What were people saying about Stidham? Was he a hot commodity? Was he being totally ignored? This is super important because it helps you gauge his value in trades. If everyone’s hyped on him, you might be able to get a good return. If nobody cares, you might have to hold on to him or even drop him.

I even threw out a few feeler trades in my own leagues. Nothing crazy, just seeing if anyone was interested. I offered him up in a package deal with a draft pick, just to test the waters. No bites yet, but it’s always good to keep exploring your options.
So, that’s where I’m at with Jarrett Stidham. He’s a project, a gamble. He could surprise everyone and become a solid starter, I think. But he might not be the next Patrick Mahomes, but he could also be a guy. It’s all about weighing the risks and rewards, doing your homework, and trusting your gut.
