Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my fantasy football lineup, and I’m stuck on this one tight end spot. It’s down to Jake Ferguson or David Njoku. I figured I’d walk you guys through my thought process, and maybe you can tell me if I’m crazy or not.

First, I pulled up their stats from the last few games. I needed to see some recent performance, not just overall season numbers. You know, who’s hot, who’s not.
- Ferguson: He’s been pretty consistent, getting a decent amount of targets. Dak seems to like throwing to him, especially in the red zone.
- Njoku: It’s been a little more up and down. Some games he explodes, others he’s barely there. Depends on who’s throwing the ball, I guess.
Then, I checked out the matchups. Who are they playing this week? Are the defenses good against tight ends? That kind of stuff.
Looked up some expert rankings too. I don’t always trust those guys, they are often wrong, but it’s another data point, right?
Digging Deeper
I started thinking about the offenses as a whole. Dallas, they like to throw, a lot. Cleveland? They run more, but Njoku is still a big target when they do pass.
I then consider injuries. Any nagging injuries for either guy? Or maybe injuries to other players on their teams that might change their roles?

The Verdict(sort of…)
After all that, I’m still kinda torn. One minute I’m leaning Ferguson, thinking he’s the safer bet. The next, I’m thinking Njoku has the higher ceiling, could go off for a huge game. My gut told me that Ferguson is my final choice, even though at some point, I still want to change it to Njoku. But let it be!
That’s my process, anyway. A little bit of stats, a little bit of gut feeling, and a whole lot of overthinking. I think I’m going with Ferguson finally. Let’s hope my choice works.
