Alright, let’s talk about this Sonny Styles fella. Heard a whole bunch about him, seems like he’s a big deal or somethin’. They say he’s gonna be the next big thing for Ohio State, you know, the football team.
Now, I ain’t no football expert, mind you. I watch a game here and there, mostly when the grandkids are around. But even I can tell this Sonny kid is somethin’ special. He’s a big ‘un, that’s for sure. They say he’s 6-foot-4 and 230 pounds. That’s a lot of boy, let me tell ya. Sounds like he could plow a field all day and still have energy left over for football.
And the stories, oh my, the stories they tell! They say he’s already a legend, even though he ain’t played much yet. Reminds me of those tall tales they used to tell down at the general store. You know, the ones where the fish gets bigger every time someone tells the story? But this ain’t no fish story, this is football. And this Sonny kid, he seems to be the real deal.
- Big and strong
- Fast, I reckon
- Comes from a football family, they say
Speaking of family, his daddy, Lorenzo Styles, he played for Ohio State too. A long time ago, mind you, like 30 years or somethin’. Back then, they didn’t have all them fancy helmets and pads they got now. Just good ol’ fashioned grit and toughness. Guess that apple didn’t fall far from the tree, huh? Lorenzo, he was a linebacker, tough as nails they say. Sounds like Sonny’s following in his footsteps, playing that linebacker position too.
This Sonny kid, he’s young, real young. Just 17 when he went to Ohio State last year. Seventeen! Why, at 17, I was already married and had two kids runnin’ around. Kids these days, they grow up so fast, playin’ football and whatnot.
I heard tell he was one of them five-star recruits. Now, I don’t rightly know what that means, but it sounds important. Like he’s the cream of the crop, the best of the best. They must have seen somethin’ special in him, that’s for sure. You don’t get to be a five-star nothin’ without bein’ mighty good at what you do.
He’s got that linebacker look, you know? Strong jaw, piercing eyes, the kind that makes you wanna run the other way. But I bet he’s a good kid, respectful and all. His mama probably raised him right.
They’re puttin’ a lot of hope on this young fella, that’s for sure. Ohio State, they want to win, and they think Sonny Styles can help them do it. That’s a lot of pressure for a young man, but I reckon he can handle it. He’s got that tough look about him, like he ain’t afraid of nothin’.
And it ain’t just about football, you know. It’s about character, about bein’ a good person. I hope this Sonny kid, he remembers that. Fame and fortune, they can change a person, make ‘em forget where they came from. But from what I hear, he’s got good folks around him, keepin’ him grounded.
So, we’ll see what happens. Football season is comin’ up, and all eyes will be on Sonny Styles. Will he live up to the hype? Will he be the next big thing? I don’t know, but I’m willin’ to bet he’ll give it his all. And that’s all you can ask for, really.
Anyways, that’s all I got to say about this Sonny Styles. He’s a big, strong kid with a lot of potential. And I, for one, am rootin’ for him. Go get ‘em, Sonny! Make your mama and daddy proud.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about football makes a body hungry.
