You see, this MLB The Show 23, it ain’t like back in the day. It’s got all these fancy settings. Makes my head spin, it does. But you gotta get it right, or you’ll be swingin’ at air all day. Ranked difficulty, they call it. Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this ranked difficulty.
First off, you got this thing called “zone hitting.” Now, I don’t know what that fancy word means, but it sounds important. They say it gives you more control. More control! Like I need more things to worry about. But if you wanna hit that ball, you gotta use it. It’s got this little circle thing, see? Gotta move it around to where the ball’s gonna be. It is called plate coverage indicator. Not easy, I tell ya, not easy.
Then there’s the difficulty level. They got all sorts. Beginner, easy, hard. I started on beginner, of course. I ain’t no expert, only tried to play some ball back when. And they got this “dynamic” thing. Sounds like dynamite! Boom! They say it changes as you play. Gets harder if you’re doin’ good, easier if you’re stinking up the place. I guess that’s fair. Then they got this “Casual” style. Says it’s laid-back. Well, I like laid-back. Maybe this is the one for me. I just want to relax and play MLB The Show 23, you know?
- Zone Hitting: More control, they say. Gotta use that little circle thing.
- Difficulty Levels: Beginner, easy, hard, and that “dynamic” thing.
- Casual Style: Laid-back. Sounds good to me.
MLB The Show 23 ranked difficulty, it’s a whole different ball game. If you are not hitting that ball, you gonna change the difficulty and sliders. I don’t know what a slider is, but it sounds like somethin’ that slides. It can’t be easy to play. And they say there’s only one difficulty for something called “Ranked Seasons”. Only one! And they talk about “swing timing penalties.” Penalties! Like you’re gonna get punished for swingin’ wrong. And then they got this thing called a “cutter.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d use in the kitchen. They throw it low and away, they say. To a “righty.” I don’t know. This game, it’s got a language all its own.
They say MLB The Show 23, it used to be better. Like everything else these days. Had a “down year” they call it. Whatever that means. But now it’s back, they say. The “king” of baseball games. Got all these “upgrades.” More things to confuse an old lady like me! This game, it’s supposed to be like real baseball. They say the people who made it, they’re good at that. “Fundamentals,” they call it. Like the basics, I guess. I can play baseball. This game is made by San Diego Studio. This name is hard to remember. And they say this MLB The Show is good at it.
But the rewards ain’t what they used to be. “Suffered mightily,” they say. Whatever that means. Sounds bad, though. They got “Sets” and “Seasons.” Sounds like a TV show. And they changed somethin’. “Design philosophy,” they call it. Sounds very important. Too complicated for me. Then they talk about “overalls” and “Ranked.” Like I said, it’s a whole different language. And someone named “Byron Buxton.” Must be a good player. It must be related to season 5. I don’t know what season 5 is. Is it a big deal? Or just some small thing in this MLB The Show 23. This is too hard for me.
This game, though, it’s like real baseball in some ways. Gotta have good fundamentals, like I said. Gotta know the basics. And you gotta practice. Just like anything else. You ain’t gonna be good at somethin’ right away. Gotta put in the time. If you want to be good at it, you must know some basics.
- Rewards: Not as good as they used to be.
- Sets and Seasons: Sounds like a TV show. Too complicated.
- Byron Buxton: Must be a good player.
So, if you’re gonna play this MLB The Show 23, you gotta be ready. Ready to learn all these new things. Ready to adjust that difficulty. Ready to swing and miss, and swing and miss some more. But maybe, just maybe, you’ll hit one out of the park. And that’ll make it all worthwhile.
But it ain’t easy, this game. Not like the old days. This ranked difficulty is not easy to understand. You gotta pay attention. You gotta learn. And you gotta have a whole lot of patience. More patience than I got, that’s for sure. Just remember to start on easy. And don’t be afraid to change things if you’re not havin’ fun. That’s the most important thing, ain’t it? Having fun. Even if you don’t understand half of what’s goin’ on. And don’t forget to use that zone hitting. That little circle thing. It might just help you hit that ball. Good luck, sonny. You’re gonna need it with this MLB The Show 23 ranked difficulty!
