Andrey Rublev and His Girl, What’s the Story?
Alright, so you wanna know about this Andrey Rublev fella and his girl, huh? Well, lemme tell ya what I heard. They say this Andrey guy, he’s a tennis player. Plays that fancy game with the rackets and the fuzzy balls. Good for him, I guess. Makes a pretty penny doing it too, they say. Millions, even! Can you believe that? All that money just for hitting a ball around.
Now, this girl of his, her name’s Anastasija Homutova. Sounds like a mouthful, doesn’t it? Anyways, they say she’s been with him for a good long while, maybe eight years or somethin’. That’s a mighty long time in my book. These youngsters these days, they don’t stick around that long usually. Always flittin’ around like butterflies.
They met, you know, where he plays that tennis. At a practice, they say. Must’ve been love at first sight, or somethin’ like that. She’s from Latvia, but grew up in Moscow. Big city, that Moscow. Lots of hustle and bustle. Not like here, where it’s nice and quiet.

- Been together a long time: Eight years is a long time. They must be serious about each other.
- She’s from Latvia, but grew up in Moscow: Well, that’s interesting. Two different places.
And this Andrey fella, he’s got money, alright. Millions, they say. Seven million, to be exact. That’s a whole heap of money. Don’t know what I’d do with all that cash. Probably buy a bigger house, maybe get a new tractor. The old one’s been giving me trouble lately.
He makes his money playin’ tennis, of course. Wins tournaments and stuff. They give him prizes, big checks with lots of zeros. And he gets money from sponsors too. Companies that want him to wear their clothes or use their rackets. It’s all a big business, this tennis thing.
He even started his own business, they say. Something called “Rublo.” Don’t know what it is, exactly. Maybe he sells tennis rackets or somethin’. Or maybe it’s something completely different. These young folks, they’re always comin’ up with new things.
So, are they still together, you ask? Well, from what I hear, they are. Been partners for five years, some folks say. Maybe the eight years is how long they’ve known each other, and five years is how long they’ve been, you know, together together. It’s all a bit confusing if you ask me.
But the long and short of it is, Andrey Rublev has a girl named Anastasija Homutova, they’ve been together a while, he’s got a lot of money from playing tennis, and he started his own business. That’s about all I know. Don’t go askin’ me for more details, ’cause I ain’t got ’em. I’m just tellin’ ya what I heard from the folks around here. They like to gossip, you know.
And you know, good for them. Findin’ someone you like and stickin’ with ’em, that’s what matters. Doesn’t matter if you’re hittin’ tennis balls or plantin’ potatoes, long as you’re happy. That’s what I always say.
