So, today, I decided to mess around with “troll football.” It sounded fun, you know, doing all those trick plays and goofy drills you see online.
First, I tried to find some good resources. I searched online for “fun and effective football drills” and “crazy trick plays in football.” Found a bunch of stuff, like some websites listing out drills and a few videos showcasing some wild plays.
- Read through descriptions of different drills. Some were about improving ball control, others were about throwing techniques.
- Watched a few videos on trick plays. Man, some of those were nuts! Double reverses, flea flickers, you name it.
After getting some ideas, I grabbed my football and headed out to the backyard. Started with some simple stuff, like practicing my stance and trying to throw the ball with more accuracy. It’s harder than it looks!
Then, I tried to set up some of the drills I read about. I marked out some areas with cones (well, actually, I used some old shoes since I didn’t have cones). One drill was about weaving through these markers while keeping control of the ball. Let’s just say I tripped a few times.
Next up, the trick plays. This was the hilarious part. I attempted to do a flea flicker. You know, where you pretend to run, then pass it back to the quarterback? I was playing solo, so I had to throw the ball, run, and try to catch it myself. It was a disaster. I ended up chasing the ball more than catching it.
I also tried some other moves, like a fake punt and a double reverse. Again, doing these alone is pretty much impossible, but I gave it my best shot. I’m pretty sure my neighbors were watching and laughing.
My takeaways from this little experiment?
- Football drills are tougher than they look, especially when you’re doing them by yourself.
- Trick plays are super fun to try, even if you fail miserably.
- I definitely need some friends to join me next time. It’s way more fun, and practical, with a group.
Overall, it was a fun afternoon. I got some exercise, had a few laughs, and learned that I’m not quite ready for the NFL yet. But hey, practice makes perfect, right? Maybe next time I’ll actually pull off one of those crazy trick plays!
