Today, I wanted to try something new in V Rising, and that was smelting iron. I’ve been playing this game for a while, but I never got around to figuring out how to get those shiny iron ingots.
So, first, I had to find some iron ore. The best place I heard about was the Haunted Iron Mine in the Dunley Farmlands. It’s a bit of a trek, but man, was it worth it! This place is loaded with iron ore veins. I found around 46 veins, I guess? It was a bit hard to count since I was busy hitting rocks. I also found some Hell’s Clarion and chests with more iron ore, sulphur, and bones. Bonus!
Getting the ore was easy, just hitting the veins with my tools. But then came the hard part. To smelt iron, I knew I needed to beat Quincey the Bandit King. This guy is level 37, and let me tell you, he’s no pushover. I had to gear up and make sure I was ready for a tough fight.
After many tries, I finally defeated Quincey. The Bandit Stronghold was also tricky because there is a closed gate. You can use either bear form or explosives to open it. After that, it dropped the recipe for iron ingots. Time to get smelting! I went back to my base and fired up the furnace.

Smelting Process
I gathered about 20 kg of roasted bog iron ore and 30 kg of charcoal. This part took some time because I had to find the right amount of materials. Roasting the bog iron was a slow process too.
I put the iron ore into the furnace. At first, nothing happened. Then I realized, “Wait a minute, there’s already some other ore in here!” I had to take out the other ores first, then put the iron ore in. Duh, how did I miss that?
Once the right ore was in, the furnace started working. It took a long time, about 10-12 hours. I kept an eye on it, making sure everything was going smoothly. When the iron bloom was ready, I had to compress it on a log with a wooden hammer. It was hard work, but seeing the iron taking shape was so satisfying.
Finally, after all that work, I had my iron ingots! It was a long process, but I learned a lot. And now, I can make even better gear and weapons. V Rising is full of these challenges, and that’s what makes it so much fun. I hope my experience helps you out if you’re trying to smelt iron too. Good luck, and happy gaming!
