Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Honkai: Star Rail lately, and Luka? He’s quickly become one of my favorites. I mean, a fire-based, physical-damage-dealing, bleed-applying brawler? Sign me up! But figuring out how to actually build him to make him truly shine took some trial and error. Let me share what I’ve learned so far.

Gearing Up My Luka
First things first, I started hunting for his Relics. The best set I found is the “Champion of Streetwise Boxing”. It really amps up his Physical damage. The 2-piece gives a solid Physical DMG Boost, and the 4-piece effect? Even better, it increases his ATK after he attacks or gets hit. Makes sense for a fighter like him, right? The thing that I found that worked best are:
- Body: Crit Rate or Crit DMG. I leaned towards Crit Rate to make sure those big hits land consistently.
- Feet: Speed. Got to make sure he’s taking turns and applying that bleed!
- Planar Sphere: Physical DMG Boost, always.
- Link Rope: ATK%. More attack, more damage, simple as that.
For sub-stats, I’m always on the lookout for Crit Rate, Crit DMG, ATK%, and Speed. Those just make him all-around stronger.
Picking Luka’s Light Cones
For Light Cones, there are some good options and what I found that works are:
- In the Name of the World:This is great for increasing damage against debuffed enemies and boosts his skill’s effect hit rate and attack.
- Resolution Shines As Pearls of Sweat: Really strong, makes enemies take more damage.
- Eyes of the Prey: I found that boost to Effect Hit Rate and Bleed damage is great for consistancy.
- Good Night and Sleep Well: Great if you can keep debuffs up.
I found some other lower rarity that worked well was:
- Fermata:Shock and Wind Shear is decent, it works well and ups break damage.
Leveling His Traces
Next up, Traces. I focused on these in this order:

- Ultimate: Gets the biggest boost per level, so I prioritized that.
- Skill: Enhanced Basic ATKs are a big part of his damage.
- Talent: Nice to have, but the other two are more important for his core gameplay.
- Basic ATK: Level it up when you have extra resources.
The bonus abilities, “Cycle Breaker,” “Kinetic Overload,” and “Crush Fighting Will,” I made sure to grab those as soon as I could. They really round him out.
Finding Luka’s Eidolons
Eidolons, ah, the gacha life. I haven’t gotten super lucky yet, but I do have his first one, “Fighting Endlessly”. which is nice for the extra damage on bleeding enemies. I’m definitely hoping to get “The Enemy is Weak, I am Strong” at some point, that extra energy regeneration sounds amazing. The other ones looked really good:
- E1 – Fighting Endlessly:Nice damage boost to bleeding enemies.
- E2 – The Enemy is Weak, I am Strong:This one gives you more energy!
Putting It All Together (Team Building!)
Finally, team comp! Luka shines best when he’s paired with other characters that can consistently apply debuffs. I’ve had a lot of fun running him with Sampo (for that Wind Shear) and Asta (for speed boosts and some extra Fire damage). A healer like Bailu or Natasha is a must to keep everyone alive. This team let me really maximize his damage potential by making sure enemies almost always had some kind of debuff on them.
It took a bit of experimenting, but I’m finally feeling like my Luka is becoming a true powerhouse. This game is all about figuring out what works best for you, so don’t be afraid to try different things! Hope this helps any other Luka fans out there!
