Okay, so, I was trying to figure out how tall Hulk Hogan really is, ’cause you hear all sorts of numbers thrown around. I remember seeing him back in the day, and the guy was HUGE. I mean, a total giant.
I started digging around, you know, just poking through some websites and old interviews. Apparently, back in his prime, the dude was listed at 6’7″. Seriously, 6’7″! That’s like, taller than most basketball players. But here’s the thing, over the years, there have been whispers, you know? Like, maybe he wasn’t quite that tall, or maybe he’d shrunk or something.
A mountain of a man
So, I kept digging. Turns out, the guy’s been through the wringer. We’re talking tons of surgeries. He said in an interview that “I’ve had 25 surgeries in the last 10 years”. And he said that he’s had like nine back surgeries, two hip replacements, and two knee replacements. After all that, it’s no wonder the guy might have lost a few inches.
He actually talked about it himself, said he’s down to about 6’4″ now. Said he used to be a “lot, lot, taller” before all those surgeries. Can you imagine? Still a giant, but not quite the mountain of a man he once was. And get this, he mentioned something about his signature move, the leg drop. He said he spent 35 years “jumping up and landing on my tailbone doing the legdrop” Can you imagine doing that for 35 years? Ouch!
Smaller talents
Then I stumbled onto some stuff about his return to WWE in ’93. Apparently, he looked a lot slimmer then. There was this whole steroid trial thing, and even though Vince McMahon got off, it changed things in WWE. They started cracking down on steroids, and they were looking for smaller wrestlers. So, by the time Hulk came back, he wasn’t as huge as before, and it wasn’t just the surgeries, you know?
But here’s a fun story I found. Back when he was in Memphis, he was on this local talk show, and he was sitting next to Lou Ferrigno, the guy who played the Incredible Hulk on TV. And the host of the show pointed out that Hogan, at 6’7″ and almost 300 pounds with these massive arms, actually made “The Hulk” look small! Can you believe it? He was that big!
The size of the “Hulk”
- Prime: 6’7″
- Now: Around 6’4″
- Reason for Change: Lots and lots of surgeries (back, hips, knees)
- Fun Fact: He once made the Incredible Hulk look small!
So yeah, that’s what I found out about Hulk Hogan’s height. It’s a bit of a wild ride, with all the surgeries and the changing times in wrestling. But one thing’s for sure, the guy was, and still is, a legend. And even at 6’4″, he’s still one tall dude!
