Okay, so, I was browsing around the other day, trying to find a decent putter clip. You know, one of those things that hold your putter to your golf bag? I’ve been using an old, beat-up one for ages, and it finally gave up the ghost. Time for an upgrade, I figured.
First, I started looking at the prices. Let me tell you, these things can range quite a bit. I saw some fancy ones going for like $300 or even $400! Like, seriously? For a putter? I mean, sure, the Scotty Cameron or Odyssey ones are nice and all, but that’s a bit rich for my blood. I’m not exactly a pro golfer over here. Then again, I found some cheaper options from brands like Wilson that were more in the $100 to $150 range. That’s more like it.
Then I started thinking about the size. Apparently, standard putters are around 33, 34, or 35 inches long. I’m about 5’7″, so I figured a 34-inch putter would probably be the best fit. I remembered reading somewhere that 33-inch ones are good for people between 5’2″ and 5’4″, and 35-inch ones are for the tall folks, like 6’0″ and up.
After that, I dove into some reviews. I read about this TaylorMade Spider EX Platinum #3 Putter that sounded pretty good. People were saying it’s good for stability and alignment, and it’s forgiving if you don’t hit the ball perfectly. Those are definitely things I could use help with. My putting game is, shall we say, a work in progress.
While researching all of this, I also learned about putter fittings. I didn’t even know those were a thing! Apparently, they’re pretty helpful if you’re trying to improve your putting. The price for one of those seems to be around $50 to $150. Not too bad, I guess, especially considering how much some of these putters cost.
I thought about getting a fitting, but then I remembered I just needed a clip, not a whole new putter. It seems like the price has been going up lately. Maybe a few years ago, it would be cheaper. So, I just grabbed a simple, no-frills clip online. It wasn’t expensive, and it does the job. I clipped it onto my bag, and it holds my putter nice and secure. No more worrying about it falling out and getting lost. Problem solved!
Anyway, that’s my little adventure in the world of putter clips. Not exactly thrilling, but hey, it’s the little things, right?
