Alright, let’s talk about this Reds and Cubs baseball game, you know? Them fellers in red, the Cincinnati somethings, and them Chicago bear-boys, yeah, the Cubs. Heard they gonna be whacking balls and running around bases soon.
Now, I ain’t no fancy expert, ya hear? Don’t know all them big words them fellers on TV use. But I can tell ya, baseball is baseball. You hit the ball, you run, you catch. Simple as that.
These Reds fellers, seems like some folks think they ain’t too good. Heard tell they got some long odds to win that World Series thingy. Something about +4000? Means they ain’t likely to win, I guess. Like tryin’ to catch a greased pig at the county fair.
- The Cubs, though, they seem a bit better, but not by much. See, they been playing each other a whole bunch. Heard they played, like, over a thousand times at the Cubs’ place. Cubs won more, but the Reds still put up a fight sometimes.
- One time they gonna play on a Friday, then another time on a Tuesday, then again on a Wednesday. Seems like they always playin’! And sometimes it’s in Chicago, sometimes it’s in that Cincinnati place. Hard to keep track, I tell ya.
They got this feller, Nico Hoerner, plays for the Cubs. And another one, Spencer Steer, plays for the Reds. Heard their names on the radio. They probably good players, hittin’ balls and catchin’ ‘em. Then there’s this Elly De La Cruz feller, plays for them Reds. Sounds like a fancy name, doesn’t it? And another one on the Cubs, Isaac Paredes. Lots of fellers, lots of names to remember. Too many for this old gal.
Now, they say this game is gonna be on TV, or maybe on that internet thingy. You can watch it, they say. But I reckon I’ll just listen on the radio. Easier on the eyes, ya know? And I can still hear them fellers hittin’ the ball. Whack! That’s the sound you wanna hear.
So who’s gonna win? That’s the big question, ain’t it? Well, I ain’t got no crystal ball. But if I had to guess, I’d say… it depends on who hits the ball harder and runs faster. That’s how baseball works, right? And maybe a little bit of luck, too. Like findin’ a four-leaf clover in the pasture.
They talk about odds and predictions, but it’s all just guessin’, if you ask me. Nobody really knows what’s gonna happen. That’s why they play the game, right? To see who comes out on top.
So, if you’re gonna watch, or listen, or whatever, just enjoy the game. Cheer for your team, eat some peanuts, and have a good time. That’s what baseball’s all about. And maybe, just maybe, them Reds will surprise everyone and win. Or maybe them Cubs will do what they’re supposed to. Like I said, it’s all just guessin’. But it sure is fun to watch, ain’t it?
Game Day? They sayin’ something about Sunday, September 29th. And that first pitch, they call it, is gonna be at 2:20 PM, Eastern time. That means it’ll be on the radio here in the afternoon. Just in time for a nice cup of tea and some sittin’ on the porch.
Anyway, that’s all I gotta say about it. Just a bunch of fellers playin’ ball. Nothin’ too fancy, just good ol’ baseball. And that’s good enough for me.
Heard they even stream the games now, on the computer. Live stream they call it. Fancy stuff. But me, I’ll stick to the radio.
