Hey, guys, I just got to share this with you. You know how I am a huge Kevin Costner fan? Well, I decided to go on a little movie marathon recently, and you know what, I started with his baseball movies. You wouldn’t believe how many there are!
First, I picked “Chasing Dreams” because it is an old one from 1982. It was released before he became famous, but I watched it only because I am a fan of his. Honestly, I never knew he was in a baseball-themed movie that early in his career. It was pretty cool to see him young.
After that, I moved on to the classics. So I rewatched “Bull Durham”. That movie is hilarious! I mean, the chemistry between Costner, Sarandon, and Robbins is just pure gold. And it’s such a fun take on the minor league baseball life. Remembered some of the supporting actors like Robert Wuhl and Trey Wilson from somewhere else, and Max Patkin was hilarious in this movie.
- Watched “Chasing Dreams” (1982) – early Costner, baseball-themed.
- Rewatched “Bull Durham” – classic, funny, great chemistry.
Then, of course, I had to watch “Field of Dreams”. Ah, man, that movie always gets me. It’s just so magical and heartwarming. And who can forget that famous line, “If you build it, he will come”? It gives me chills every time! I think it was released in 1989, but I am not quite sure. I searched on the internet and it was based on a novel.
And I remembered that he also had another baseball movie, “For Love of the Game”. I did some digging online and found out that it was a romantic sports drama film in 1999. The online information also shows it was based on a novel, telling a story about a baseball player, nearing the end of his career.
My Baseball Movie Marathon
- Continued with “Field of Dreams” – magical, heartwarming, iconic line.
- Watched “For Love of the Game” – romantic, a different vibe.
I realized he’s been in a bunch of baseball movies! Besides the three I mentioned, I also watched “The Upside of Anger”. In three of these movies, he played a pro baseball player, and in another, he was a former pro baseball player. I think he must really love baseball.
It is said that he’s a big baseball fan in real life and has played it for fun. I guess that’s why he’s so good in these roles.
Anyway, it was a blast diving into these films. It made me appreciate Kevin Costner’s work even more, and it’s cool how he’s combined his acting with his love for baseball.
Gotta go for now. Stay tuned for more of my movie adventures, folks!
